Premiered tonight.
I LOL'ed for real when Boyd said this: “I’ve been to Iraq, it’s a lot like Detroit only you have better music.”
I actually pressed rewind to hear it again.
I just finished up Season 4 over the holidays, and this show has solidified its standing as one of my favorites.

Oh, and I liked the short Elmore Leonard tribute they did at the beginning. I was afraid it'd be maudlin and cheesy but it was cool.

I watched it on demand, what was the tribute? (I've only read a bit of Leonard and it wasn't about Givens).
I missed Boyd and Raylan so much. I never thought I'd see Boyd fighting for his family so hard and Raylan so iffy about his. It'll take me a minute to digest Rappaport's Kentucky accent, but the Crowes are one maniacal family.
And how about the 40 character actors busting out for the premiere? Usually I'd IMDb them but damn, so many. The comedian Canadian drug lords were a pleasant surprise.

I love this show, but this season has been moving at a snail's pace so far, particularly that second episode. I know it's mostly set-up, but I'm hoping things pick up pretty soon. I kind of liked it better when the plots were simpler and overlapped a bit more like they did in S1 and S2. Right now I feel like there's the idiot Crowe brothers whorehouse plot, the Boyd-Detroit Mafia plot, and the Raylan plot, and none of them are too thrilling. Raylan's plot in particular is not interesting me right now.

It makes sense to wrap it up next season. Hopefully the writers will pull it together. No need for a new Big Bad, just center on the people who matter: Boyd, Ava, the folks at the Marshals' office... I gotta say, I'd watch Goggins & Olyphant in just about anything.
So I'm rewatching and totally forgot how racist Boyd used to be. It seems so long ago. What changed his mind? Was it when his little religious sect went awry? I feel bad for Ava, although she's done some awful sh*t in her day. That prison guard (from Buffy, I forget his name) was so incredibly slimy.
I'm trying not to watch streaming eps b/c I want to buy the boxed set once the series is over...

Eh, he just sounds like a guy who felt he'd be treated badly by the website asking for the interview.
Given that they trashed him just in discussing the interview, I'd say his impression was spot on.

Eh, he just sounds like a guy who felt he'd be treated badly by the website asking for the interview. Given that they trashed him just in discussing the interview, I'd say his impression was spot on. If you're interested in what he's like outside of interviews, by all means, check out his twitter feed. He believes Ted Cruz is misunderstood, lefties believe in free wealth (I'm not even sure what that means), and has a ton of followers who are quick to defend him against people with the most minor of questions that aren't 100% in line with his way of thinking. It was very disappointing. One guy told me, "Well Alec Baldwin is a far leftie, so what's your point?" I blocked him before I thought of responding, "Yeah, I'm not crazy about him either, b/c I have critical thinking skills and don't care for all Democrats OR all Republicans." My politics are strictly my own, but when a man is going on and on about how Romney could've saved this country... It tweaks me a little. Also, he is very excited to tell you about the size of his house, his black adopted child proving he's not racist (which I personally never accused him of) and winning the Peabody, which is meant to immediately shut down all detractors. His tv character is so chill & lackadaisical, reading this was like a slap. I'll pump up the other actors on the show till its final bow, but as of now I have no interest in him or his career. I found him very judgmental, offensive, and many of his followers ARE outright racist, so that's another no.

Wow. I am going to have to work really hard to separate Art the character from Nick the anusface.

Yeah, I just started rewatching season 1 and it's very hard to believe it's the same person. I absolutely love the show, and the ensemble, so I'll have to work it out in my brain. I can avoid him in future roles, however.
Lawd, Olyphant is so lanky. I just saw the ep where Tazel asks him what would happen if she strutted in with a cowboy hat on acting all entitled. I like their relationship, I wish there'd been more on her and Gutterson, in retrospect.
