I'm not sure. This is still feeling shark jumping, since not one of the non-Alexandrians, a.k.a. Our Heroes, was killed, while surrounded by walkers and able to have conversations during a Zombie attack. It's just a little convenient.
It also doesn't help that the other Alexandrians, even the Gay Couple whose name I should know, are so unmemorable that I didn't recognize most of them. Hopefully, that will change in New New Alexandria.
Still, it was very entertaining, and bloody bloody bloody!

Loved this episode. Nonstop action. The Alexandrians weren't portrayed as complete pussies. One of the best episodes of the show ever.
I don't why we needed flashbacks of Rick's Girlfriend when she died. I could have cared less. Too much time was wasted on that family. The little kid who played Sam was ADORABLE in an interview on the Talking Dead though. He and the actress who plays Carol love to go antiquing!
Yes, the Wolf cleaned up nice. When his real accent came out of his mouth I couldn't believe it.

I needed a cigarette after that episode and I don't even smoke.

The look on Rick's face when Jessie started getting eaten by zombies said to me "I'm never gonna get to 2nd base with a woman again, am I?" (Michonne is right there, Rick.)

I was a little worried when Rick started going into berserker mode, but damn did it turn out to be awesome! I loved that little montage towards the end of the battle with everyone swinging their weapons. It was really beautifully done.
And if Daryl can't have his crossbow then I think an RPG is not a bad replacement.

Loved it.
Michonne and Carol still remain the most kickass of kickass. I love when Michonne skewered Ron.
I think Rick is losing it again. His monologue at Carl's bed was a wee bit over the top for me, but when is he not full of the drama. Despite that it was a stellar episode for me.

I was a little worried when Rick started going into berserker mode, but damn did it turn out to be awesome! I loved that little montage towards the end of the battle with everyone swinging their weapons. It was really beautifully done. Yes, it was. It was one of the few hopeful scenes in the run of the show. Here you have a group of people who the main badasses have written off as walker chow because they've never really faced hardship, and boy oh boy, do they step up and do their part. After the sequence of them emerging one by one from their safe spaces and joining the fight to save their town, it's easy to see them facing down all the future threats that are headed their way. And I really have to say that Gabriel truly redeemed himself. Until this episode my nickname for him was Father PAB. I'm going to have to rethink that now. I can see some future development from Morgan and Carol as well. On Morgan's end, he has to realize now that while "never kill a living human no matter what" is a great philosophy to have when you don't have a bunch of random psychos breathing down your neck, sometimes you have to do some bad things to keep everyone else safe. It's a noble philosophy, but so far it has gotten a lot of people killed and indirectly caused the herd invasion of Alexandria. As for Carol, shooting Psycho Dave Grohl then seeing him sacrifice himself so Denise could get away might have her rethinking her "kill 'em all and let God sort 'em out" philosophy and toning it down. The look on her face after she did it tells me that much. If the writers do their jobs right, and I have been given no reason to think they won't/can't, that's how this could play out. And yeah, Daryl with an RPG is pretty damn sweet. I hope he saves the remaining rounds for when they really need them, though. There's speculation that Negan won't show up until near the end of the season. Can't say I'm happy about that. It's not that I'm in a hurry for Negan to come and fuck things up, I'm just really jazzed to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan in the role. Finally, in the previews, they show Daryl and Rick coming up on an unseen someone with guns drawn. I have my fingers crossed that it's Jesus Monroe that they run into. We need some time with an unambiguously good character or three before the shit really hits the fan again. I hope that's not the case and that he's really turning a corner. One of the running themes this season is that people can change. First, Morgan goes from mindless killer to Jedi. Then there's the possible Heel Face Turn of Psycho Dave Grohl. Denise goes from anxious mess to Code Black professional. Then Gabriel, Eugene and the wimpy Alexandrites stepping up. Maybe the episode marks a shift from "I'll kill every pampered suburbanite in this town before I let them put my family's safe space at risk" Rick to one who can be a true inspiration and leader like Deanna. I'm a little invested at this point, can ya tell?

I loved the ep but I'm still nervous about Gabriel. What made him turn a corner? What's made him totally do a 180? At least Eugene's been talking it out, and was upfront about his cowardice. I think Gabriel's still not completely trustworthy, so him with Judith kept me anxious.

I guess... But hasn't he had a few last stands in the past? Does he do this about-face in the novels?
