He is seriously SOOOO good live! He has sooo much energy and his band just adds to the he would do an amazing job. My friend saw him live in ATL and also said it was fantastic. Good for him.

He's going to be the halftime show performer at the 2014 Super Bowl.

I love him, but the shit has started flying here in NYC. A lot of folks think it was wrong not picking a NY or NJ act. I adore Bruno Mars; I saw him on Graham Norton's show and he was so good, I've watched that performance (of Locked out of Heaven) on youtube about twenty times.

I'm not in their musical demo or anything, and I'm a born and bred midwesterner, so I come at this with a bias (full disclosure, I don't follow football or give a shit about the commercials or half-time show). That being said, I'm sick of Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi having exclusive rights to east coast events. They may be the biggest acts from New Jersey, but they are event hogs. Didn't Bruce already play a Superbowl anyway?? I remember him landing crotch first into cameras at some show.
Anyhow, if the NFL wants to reach a new demographic (age wise and culturally) Bruno is a great pick. Hot enough for the under 30 crowd, and still safe enough for the granpas, and grannies who danced along to Bandstand. People like to groove, and Bruno brings that out of people. How many times can you repeatedly rock out to Living on a Prayer or Born in the USA. Time for some fresh blood, so full steam ahead, I say.

I think Gorillas is my favorite pop song out right now I'm not in their musical demo or anything, and I'm a born and bred midwesterner, so I come at this with a bias (full disclosure, I don't follow football or give a shit about the commercials or half-time show). That being said, I'm sick of Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi having exclusive rights to east coast events. They may be the biggest acts from New Jersey, but they are event hogs. Didn't Bruce already play a Superbowl anyway?? I am the target demo (kind of - a lot of family in NJ) but I still have to agree. I love Bruce, I've seen him live and he's awesome, but enough already.

I've finally gotten around to listening to his last album and it's great! I knew it would be good, but I was pleasantly surprised by how many songs I liked.

Look, my little 11- to 14-year-old heart loved Bon Jovi circa 1986-1989 as much as anyone has every loved anything on this planet. But I just wish they would have.a.seat for a while. I have no idea how they keep churning out these albums and touring all the time. Hardly anyone knows any of this stuff. And when they play stuff off of Slippery When Wet now, it doesn't even sound or feel the same. Bring on Bruno, indeed.

Go fig. My objection was not Springsteen or Bon Jovi. My objection was that Bruno Mars is a little "green" to me. I mean, I understand someone like Beyonce (whom I don't like, but I get). But Bruno Mars? Seems like he's entertaining enough for a small arena (never having seen him live I could be wrong), but not enough for a stadium.
But that's why I don't book musical talent.

I am officially old because that Gorillas song perplexes me. It's like, I like the song and am digging it and all, and then...Gorillas? Wha? Oh well.
