I saw some of the pics over on ONTD. They're real. There's a HUGE list of female celebrities, and what's being leaked all looks legit. It's really sad. I feel really bad for those ladies.
And in this case... apparently someone super-hacked into various iClouds, and it's possible that some of the images might have even been deleted before the hack, because somehow material can be found even after deleting. Good job, Apple.
TMZ is acting like it's breaking this hack scandal when people are saying that they bought the images (and there's video, too, apparently) for six figures. I know Harvey is a lawyer, but I really hope someone finds a way to mega-sue TMZ. This whole thing reeks of level 10 misogyny.

Some of the pics I've seen over at perezhilton of jlaw are of Jlaw posing for them. Why do celebs who allegedly don't want nude photos leaked pose for them in the first place?

Why not? She was in a long-distance relationship. Sometimes you get up to sexy fuckery with camera phones when in that type of situation. She did nothing wrong. She's the victim here. The hackers are the ones violating her privacy.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead said that hers were taken with her husband and deleted a while ago. This is so gross and awful for them. Thank god I'm not famous because there's enough pictures of my junk in the cloud that the Samson and Son theme would start playing as soon as my account got hacked.

My point is, once the photo is taken, it's out there. Even deletion sometimes doesn't work. So, if you don't want photos leaked, don't take them.

I get what you are saying, but sometimes people take naked pictures of themselves in private for private reasons. These women are victims and I'm not going to shame them for taking naked pictures intended for private viewing. The real issue here is that some person exposing private data, which is incredibly violating.

How do so many people get hacked? Is it because they have really simple passwords?

I don't use iCloud, but people elsewhere are saying they are incredibly easy to hack into and a lot of people don't know this. Also, you can delete data all you want, but it's still somehow stored on iCloud and can be "revived" by hackers.

Even after you delete a photo, it is still on your carrier's server.

Jen is my favorite, so this hurts me on her behalf. She must be absolutely gutted. Such a violation for her and the other women that were targeted. I hope the law will finally catch up to the technology, and the hacker(s) get some real punishment. Not a slap on the wrist and probation. I'm talking dozens of years in prison, and never being allowed to use a computer again.
