Sometimes it can get difficult to remember who everyone is, because sometimes someone is mentioned in conversation that was only mentioned or seen once before. I usually just look up a wiki of ice and fire to refresh who they are.

Thanks! I'm on book timeout right now but I'll look for some cheap copies on amazon when I can. Also, iirc Margaery said something in the promos about how she'd wanted to be queen. Why isn't she queen if they were officially married at Joffrey's death? Is it as simple as women not being allowed to rule?

Margaery currently isn't queen since Joffrey dropped dead. Her title/power was tied to him and died with him since she isn't in the line of succession. Just like if Queen Elizabeth died tomorrow, Prince Phillip wouldn't get the crown - it would go to Charles. I don't know if she would even retain an honorary title since she was queen for less than a day. Cersei sure as hell won't allow it.
The crown will go to next in line. Since the king had no children, it goes to his little brother Tommin. Margaery would have to marry Tommin to remain queen. Since the Lannisters need the Tyrell's financial support, I don't think she will walk away empty-handed.

I think that promo was from a Season 2 (prior to her meeting Joffrey) clip when Littlefinger approached her with the idea of an alliance between the Tyrells and the Lannisters, promising her that she would be a queen, and she replied that she wanted to be the queen.

Wow. That scene with Jaime and Cersei in the sept was different and much worse than in the books. Way to kill the goodwill he built up in the baths and when he rescued Brienne. A huge BOO to the writer or producer who decided to depict that scene like that.

Yeah I'm a little confused about what they're doing with Jaime. Mr s and I speculated that they may have gone too far in redeeming him last season and are having to take several steps back.

It was a weirdly edited and directed scene but I don't know if I'm surprised at this latest turn in Jaime's character. He's gone through so many changes over the course of three seasons that I don't know what his character's all about. But it was a "nice" reminder of how truly fucked up the Lannisters are. Raping your twin sister next to your son's dead body is a new low though.
The whole episode was strange. The only scene that had any real emotion IMO was the one between Tyrion and Pod. Didn't care at all about Sam and Gilly. Littlefinger is back and the actor's line delivery immediately got on my nerves again. Poor Sansa though. I'm liking Jon Snow a lot more this season.

A huge BOO to the writer or producer who decided to depict that scene like that. Yeah, after that scene I thought, "Little too rape-y there, guys." In the books, it started out with Cersei saying no, but then it was very much consensual. I saw that Cersei put her hands on his face once or twice making it seem she was in to it, but...no. Not great, Bob. While I can get behind a display of a total lack of respect for Joffrey like donking his mom next to his body while it lies in state and when Cersei grabbed on of the cloths on the altar, I was hoping Joffrey's body would come crashing down on top of them, I would have felt much better about the whole thing if Cersei said yes. And I actually felt bad for Cersei because she was the only one who gave a shit that Joffrey was dead. Tywin immediately started grooming Tommen, Jaime can only think "CERSEI!" and everyone else was just all, "Huh. Wonder what this will mean for me." Pod really is the best. If Tyrion ever gets out of this, he really needs to start paying that kid. Shireen and Ser Davos continue to be adorable.

It is so disturbing to me that the male director doesn't think he shot a rape scene. I cannot even begin to imagine what he thinks sexual consent is. Why are the showrunners changing scenes in the book that are not rape into rape? It happened once with Drogo, which ok, but twice now? What bizarre demographic are they pandering to that really wants to see more sexual violence against women? It is legit ruining the show for me. They are making some weird choices when they cut things from the book but then we get an extended orgy scene, and long almost indulgent scenes of men pissing. What the hell? I'm also super glad to see that the scene with Pod about his sexual prowess has become such an important and integral part of the storyline. Jesus.
