I love the color on that tuxedo, and although I hate the deep cut in front, I think the cut and drape overall are rather nice.

I think it is kind of weird how media/gossip outlets try to keep her in her place or whatever by stories like that (her anticipation of an AA nom). She sure engenders ill will from a certain faction of the media. I guess I don't get it. She's really a great example of damned if she does, and damned if she doesn't. Roles, kids, marriage...I guess she is just one of those celebrities that inspire some sort of reaction.
I'm going to see her movie eventually (I rarely see movies in the theater). It sounds interesting and like a story we haven't really heard before.
I don't hate the tuxedo but I don't really like that shade. I think it would have been nice in a midnight blue or a prettier, deeper red? I'm kind of iffy on red in general.
Jinx, chones! I just posted about the shade. Shade about the shade, hee! Ahem.

Wouldn't the press junket have been tied to the movie's official premiere, which was just yesterday (I think the movie opens next week)? That's usually when junkets are scheduled. She's the only actor that's been doing press for it anyway. (ETA Actually, the director and screenwriter would've been included, too.) Anyway, that almost is more on her publicsts/Taback. Perhaps I'm being too charitable, but it doesn't seem that bad to me and makes sense to cancel or postpone publicity so that publicity for the film isn't about the immediacy of the non-nomination. The press junket could've been for the movie but this Gold Derby reporter makes it sound like it was just really for her, not the movie itself. Maybe he misunderstood the purpose of the junket or is just being speculative about the cancellation. I don't blame her if she thought she'd be nominated. She actually did make some big gains in the race out of nowhere and some people thought she had a chance at winning since she was campaigning harder than anyone and Julianne Moore wasn't doing much campaigning. She missed her chance at some Oscar glory but at least she used the opportunity to promote the fact that she can do more than comedy. Maybe this will help her be cast in more substantial roles than she's usually offered.

At least she isn't wearing black but the color isn't very flattering. She might have looked better in a cherry red.

Nope. She's not that kind of sexy to pull off a deep cut tuxedo look and it's not helped by the fact that the red tomato color is all sorts of wrong.
I am surprised she didnt get a Oscar nom given how much money she poured into her campaign which I can appreciate because it still means that some sections of the movie industry try to reward movies and performances on merit and not on hype. Unless the hype is created by Harvey. On the other hand some really good performances were left out of the race so it still isn't a full meritocracy yet, though the Oscars do try and succeed at being more choosy than the Globes.

It's kind of band-uniform-red. I think a deeper cherry color would have been very pretty!
I'll withhold judgement on the nom/lack of noms until I see the movie, I guess.

I hate to say it, but Goopy wore a red Gucci tux years ago...and did it better. Eek. Don't ban me.

I also think that Angelina Jolie would worn a tuxedo like this better. * ducks* This tux is more like a wine color. Jennifer should have worn her hair up.
