I'm all for ensuring good work gets watched but if the work is that good then it should stand on it's own. You shouldn't need to hire an oscar strategist, get your friends to host promotional events, get your publicist to have People mag kiss your ass every 5 minutes. i mean the critics are raving about Julianne Moore's performance in Still Alice and she doesn't appear to be hustling at all because the performance speaks for itself! if you are shoving yourself in my face every 5 minutes then I'm starting to think you are trying to hard. Jen's entire award season campaign thus far has smacked of trying to hard and trying to convince everyone she was oscar worthy.

I've said it here and on other sites: if they wanted to get married, they would. Cameron was engaged publicly for a month, and planned a traditional Jewish ceremony and reception in her backyard. You mean to tell me Jen can't. She could easily...easily fly Justin's entire family to wherever they decided to elope. It's so much BS. And to be honest, no one really cares if they marry. So she can stop talking about it whenever she's ready. As InnocentOne said, I don't believe a word that comes out of her mouth. With Jen the word "wedding" should be in quotes. I won't believe she's serious about getting married until after it happens and I'm not holding my breath. Oh, and the dead ex-ex-ex boyfriend wasn't enough, now it's dyslexia? What's next, ongoing trauma from a bad case of diaper rash she had as an infant? If the dreaded triangle is like an adult version of Betty, Veronica and Archie then this is one of those issues where you hated Betty for being a dweeb, but still not enough to start rooting for Veronica.

Can someone tell me about Bea Arthur not liking Betty White? Damn, I love both of them.

I don't know any exact stories, but Bea Arthur didn't like a lot of people, and she wasn't so nice to fans who approached her. She was a bad ass, but not a friendly person. Even some of the children who worked with her over the years seemed respectful, but you could tell their recollections were not warm.
Eta: so, she has dyslexia, but it doesn't really affect her and she didn't even know she had it until she was an adult? Cool story. She is too beige for me to get worked up about her, and I have heard that that she is very nice and friendly to the people who work for her like assistants, but I swear she has nothing to talk about in interviews. She must not be so verbally eloquent.
And campaigning for Oscars is pretty normal. I can't hate on her for trying, but she doesn't really have the body of work for an "she's owed one" Oscar, and she hasn't ever made a serious movie where I wasn't like,"Man, she's playing this like Rachel with depression."

I'm 35 and I just recently found out that I'm dyslexic. Its actually pretty common to discover it in adulthood; Spielberg also discovered it about himself just a few years ago. Dyslexic is NOT just transposing letters. It's a difference in how the brain processes information. Most of us learn to have language-based thinking early on, but some of us process visually. That's why letters, directions, opposites, etc get reversed. Dyslexics think in 3D without a point of reference. And a lot of stealth dyslexics can read fine; dyslexics actually make great speed readers because they don't rely on subvocalizations and instead skim the whole text at once for keywords that connect to real images to form a mental visual-spatial picture of the context, rather than reading to themselves word by word. Dyslexics actually process information through pictures much faster than those who process information through language. But, like Aniston, they don't always have a way with words.

Oh, I am sorry if I came across as mocking dyslexia. I'm not (I also have the flu, so I am a bit loopy). I found out I had it post college in my 20s. I was just a little weirded out that she didn't seem to have anything to say about it outside of that she has it and that it doesn't really impact her life. Why share that information then? But it also looks like the info I read was snipped at the source. So maybe she does go on to talk about it and how it affected her.
I didn't make the connection between her not having a way with words and having dyslexia. That could explain a bit. I was just assuming that she was shy or dull, hah.

Her eyes are a very pretty color! I kinda like the dress. I think it works on her.
