Could not find a thread for him, much to my surprise! Here's his imdb profile.
I think I saw him first in Inception, and thought he was extremely attractive there (nice suits helped). Then saw him as Ricki Tarr in Tinker Tailor, and he was one of the best things in that movie (I found it disappointing, perhaps because I'm a huge fan of the book). And last night I watched Warrior and he completely blew me away.
He was amazing in the role of the "bad" brother: his character is just like this knot of barely contained rage and grief that is only ever really released when he's fighting, and he managed to portray that perfectly imo. His scene with Nick Nolte (playing his dad), when he finds him drunk in the hotel room had me crying. The end of the movie had me sobbing too, so yeah, his performance and the movie really got to me. After seeing the movie, I can't quite believe he wasn't Oscar nominated. Nolte was, but part of that is probably that the Academy wants to reward an old actor for a)being alive and b) doing good, solid work.
I'm sure it's been said before, but there is something "Brando-ish" about Hardy. Some of it is the looks: the almost too pretty face and the lips, but there's also this softness to him even when he's playing a hard-ass which reminds me of Brando. Not that he's THAT good, but from what I've seen he is still damn good.
His next big role is as Bane in the upcoming Batman. I'll see him in anything. He's got "it" for sure, and I just can't take my eyes off him on screen.
