One of my friends loves the bejeebus out of him. I told her she wouldn't look twice at him if he was a gas station attendant. He's got a certain charm, but nothing special to me.

In the only quote I ever saw about he didn't say he "fucked guys" or anything of the sort. He was asked about the "fooling around at public school" thing, and he said yes it happened. That could mean anything. Just found a link for a 2010 article, which probably started the whole "he's bisexual!" thing, in which he flat out said he's never had intercourse with a man. A couple of years ago he told Jonathan Ross, without any prompting, that he'd once blacked out and woken up naked in bed with another man, with a gun between them. Sure, the relations with men he's spoken about could mean anything, but I think that's the point: He dropped these tantalising little tidbits to make himself sound so dark and interesting and he seemed happy to have people asking "is he or isn't he?" regarding his bisexuality while he was a UK star. But when he wanted to make it in Hollywood, suddenly it was time to clear everything up. I actually believe him and I think he probably hasn't had sex with a man, but a) playing at bisexuality to make yourself edgy is lame and puts him on par with starlets posing for GQ and b) the timing for him putting a stop to that is suspicious, as it seems to have happened once he realised a male bisexual star wouldn't fly in mainstream Hollywood.

Whenever I see his name I automatically and completely irrationally think douchebag. I think this is because I confuse him with Ed Hardy which makes me think of John Gosling and so the name Hardy is permanently linked to douchebag in my brain.
All I know about him is that he did some crazy ass workouts to get in shape for the next Batman movie.

Totaly agree with you re: the bisexual issues. He did play that up a bit in the UK and has since back tracked since he's got Hollywood roles. Best roles I have seen him in were Branson and Stuart: A Life Backwards, in which he starred with Benedict Cumberbatch.

Agreed. While it isn't as bad as what fellow Brit Luke Evans has done (and I feel more sorry for that guy than merely annoyed), Tom's "naughty boy" persona that he tried to cultivate was meh. He's a fine actor so he doesn't need to play these games with the press.

Oh wow. I wondered if they would ever get married! I loved them in Wuthering Heights, my first introduction to both of them.

All the tears reading that eulogy. I literally know nothing about Tom Hardy, but reading this made me like him a lot.
