OMG. I love her Oscar dress. I like the Vanity Fair party one too. Bravo, JLo - you looked glamorous. I loved her dresses also. I also loved her reaction to Patricia Arquette's speech. Her and Meryl. Women power.

I know I am in the minority but she got best dressed from me. I know full on gowns aren't the thing anymore at The Oscars, but I love the throwback to old Hollywood with a bit of JLO (the plunging neck) thrown in. She looked beautiful.

The dress was beautiful, but I wonder what all the other A-listed actors, think of this same woman who is never nominated, but consistently shows up at these events as a "presenter", with the purpose of trying to take the attention away from the actors who have excelled in their craft, especially wearing that huge dress as if she were a nominee. She's the only celebrity that has made a habit of doing this, and it seems she never tires of this desperate behavior, or has any pride.

What makes you think this is her "purpose". Looking back at her other Oscar gowns, this is the only one that is big and puffy and makes a statement really. They invite her, she accepts because dude it's THE OSCARS. If someone invited me to the Oscars I would go all balls to the walls with my dress choice! I don't mean to come off as some JLO apologist but I just think saying it's her purpose to take attention away from the actors is a bit silly.
Is it an Oscar rule that only nominees are allowed to wear big dresses? Not that I am aware of.

Agreed, and honestly the Oscars are so ridiculously self-congratulatory that I'm loathe to take them seriously at all (and I say that as someone who looks forward to them each year). I certainly don't think JLo is more self aware than anyone else in the room, but at least she looks like she's enjoying herself. And I can't begrudge her wearing a ball gown the one time a year that it's appropriate--I'd be wearing one too.

It's not a "rule", but it makes one look a little desperate/silly to show up to an awards show for 15 years in a row, with a big ole statement gown when one has nary a nomination to her name. Even Sally Kirkland had a legit reason to drag her crazy behind to this show for decades on end.

I was super annoyed by it 10-15 years ago when she definitely was upstaging the nominees and bringing the class level down. Remember when she had her stylist remove several layers of lining from her Chanel gown so her tits showed? www.cowboysandcadillacsblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/628x471.jpgAnd she used to go every.single.year. Nowadays it doesn't bug me so much because she's not capable of siphoning off so much attention. She's settled into being the new Sally Kirkland.

I don't care who wears what, I just want something spectacular or fun to look at... It's really the main reason why I watch the show.

It's official Jlo is no longer the hot girl. She's entered the let her be stage of her career. It was only five years or so ago, when we all would have laughed at this obvious attempt at garnering any type of attention despite never being a nominee. We literally had this discussion every year. Now, it seems no one has the heart to snark on her anymore.
Don't worry Jlo, I'll forever have the major dislike for you and your big ass.
