Crosby and Adam want separate futures for The Luncheonette. Both talked it over with their wives, and Crosby wants to keep it. Adam wants to sell it.
Zeek is still alive, and he has two bad choices: do nothing, or risky open heart surgery. He and Camille decided that only they will make that decision. Not the kids.
Hank proposed to Sarah, badly and inaopportunely of course, and she gave a "definite maybe" for an answer.
The Good news: Julia and Joel seem to be back together. Kongrats to those Krazy Kids!

Thanks!
Was it open heart surgery or bypass surgery? Bypass is the more common operation in what appears to be Zeek's medical condition. Regardless, glad that they will decide and not let their noisy brood overtalk their way into it.
Of course, Adam wants to sell the Luncheonette. He's not a music biz person; he just likes to flit from one thing to the next, along with Kristina.

I'm pretty sure it was bypass. The teaser for next week was about the fall out on the Luncheonette.

Well, bypass surgery is serious, but not the pearl-clutching "why me" life-and-death tragedy that the Bravermans are making it out to be. People - many of them way older than Zeek - have bypasses all the time and bounce back really well.
This seems like typical Parenthood writing/Braverman reacting that because it's happening to them, it's just So Much Worse than anyone else's experience.
I'm glad the Luncheonette and its problems are being acknowledged because, really, those guys mismanaged that business right into the ground. Ignoring it, turning their noses up at clients that weren't hipster-cool enough for them, hiring their flaky niece, leaving for days to serve school lunches, jeez.

J&J are back together (like there was any doubt). This made me smile! Shirtless!Joel made me smile also.
However, Adam returning to The Luncheonette, while honorable, is probably not such a good move. I'm sure in TV Land, they will suddenly get a lifetime contract with The Rolling Stones / Eminem / Taylor Swift / Next Big Star, but realistically?

Or Adam will just draw from the Braverman Secret Money Well that finances everything else.
In what universe does Sarah not own a hammer, and wow, do I hate the trope that two poor dumb wimmins need a mayun to assemble a piece of furniture. Gah. And why is it the deadbeat dad's fault that the crib is unassembled, that's not some passive-aggressive new idea on his part. Urgh. And does Amber have anything else for her baby, which is apparently due any day?
Joel was hawwwt when he arrived at the ice rink, egads!

The final episode tonight, although the cast seems to be blabbing spoilers all around the media. Same with the official Facebook page too. I'm also suspecting that {Spoiler}J&J are going to find out they're pregnant. Circle of life continues and all that. ...... It's really been an up and down final 2 seasons, but it is a very good, earnest show that should have earned more award attention than it did.

Yeah, I'm lining up my boxes of tissues for the finale.
I was actually a little dismayed by the big pink bow that was being tied around Joel and Julia's storyline, so I'm glad they had some rocky patches in last week's episode.

I enjoyed the show, but some of the storylines - esp. those involving Adam and Kristina and Max - were just too ridiculous, so I'm okay with the show being overlooked for awards. I can think of a lot of other network shows that deserve awards before Parenthood.
That said, it was a satisfying finale and it was nice that they managed to bring back most of the family. Glad that Haddie was there because it would have been ridiculous for her to miss a family wedding and funeral. However, everyone seemed to get a little “where are they now” bit except her.
The number of babies was a little silly, but the show is called Parenthood and I suspect it was an homage to the movie, which also ended about a year ahead and had everybody either pregnant or holding a new baby. I’m happy that Sarah and Hank didn’t have a baby, since their movie counterparts did. Oy.
Joel and Julia just reconciled and decide to adopt another child, which Joel thinks won’t fit in their enormous house, and a year later they have yet another baby! Amber has two babies! Babies, babies, babies! Surprised Kristina didn’t have yet another child to ignore in favour of Max.
Speaking of Kristina, so she has this great job offer to what? Oversee the development of a chain of Snowflake Academies and she doesn’t mention it to Adam? Even though he’s making an important decision about his own business and whether or not to continue and following his dreams and supporting his family, blahblahblah, it never occurs to Kristina to mention that she can move on to being Supernintendo Headmistress and earn more money and opening a job for Adam? She just lets that offer fester in the back of her mind until after Adam closes the Luncheonette and accepts a corporate drone job he doesn’t really want, then she says, “Oh by the way…” For all the talking they do, this is where she chooses to stay silent?
And of course Zeke dies quietly in the living room. He didn’t want heart surgery because he might die, and he dies anyway a couple months later. He was only 70, why not risk it – he had lots to live for. Although now Camille can travel the world and paint in peace.
