Well in any person's defense on Twitter, they probably ruin their grammar, etc due to their only being a 140 or 160 character limit. Fair enough. But I'm not that picky, either. Topic? I had no idea Nicki Minaj had a fake butt.

I feel like most rappers probably aren't any worse than the average rock star. I'm not sure I agree with this. However, the point I was trying to make was that Nicki isn't any worse- or even as bad- as many males in these genres. Her worst acting out has yet to reach Kanye/Em levels and those two (along with the majority of male hip hop acts)actually use their attitudes as selling points. Kanye has made some pro-gay statements, but Nicki has been very vocal on her support for the LGBT community, too. I appreciate that Em has been a stable figure for his children, but he has still been a massive jerk, publicly. I have actually been unfortunate enough to witness Russell Simmons jerkery in person, and can state for a fact that it didn't come down to me catching him on a bad day. He is politically active in many ways that I support, but that does not mean he's nice. He doesn't even pretend to be particularly nice in interviews or in front of cameras, either. I don't really think Nicki is that bad, but I also feel like she is being expected to play by a different set of rules. If she does that, then she's not going to have a career. Topic? I had no idea Nicki Minaj had a fake butt. Boobs, butt, nosejob. She's older than she claims and was actually making headway in her career before she got all that work done, so there are a ton of pictures of her pre-plastic surgery online. She was a cute girl.

I don't mean to excuse bad or rude behavior, treating people poorly or acting out is never acceptable to me and one of the main reasons I do not like Kanye West. That said Nicki's behavior and attitude may be deemed worse or harder to accept than Kanye, Em, or her other rap peers because for so many people she falls squarely in the "no discernible talent" category. If she is suppose to be a rapper she is not very good at it, if she is suppose to be pop star she is even more awful at that. Having no talent and yet attaining incredible success is certainly not unheard of especially in the music industry. But for someone who has barely been in the game 3 years and who's talent/gimmick is extremely limited her out-sized OTT ego is truly outstanding. This girl has accomplished nothing in music other than lining her pockets by using the lowest common denominators. Yet she walks around believing that she is entitled to respect and lashes out at any criticism. From what I've seen of her she has a delusional sense of her own importance and the "stan" mentality that has evaded our culture has allowed non-talents like her to 'succeed" even when they fail. To believe that everything they do is 'great' even when it is laughably horrible. She is one of many these new school entitlement monsters who truly believe they are as godly as their twitter time line affirms. A parody from in Living Color, all the way back in the 90's, making fun of Crystal Waters (who wasn't even that bad!). This parody could be about just about any of the major music stars of today, but no one comes more to mind then Nicki Minaj.

Isn't that the same dress Julie Bowen wore at the Emmy Awards this year?

I'm not sure if the winners know beforehand, but Nicki could have tried to look happy that she won Favorite Hip Hop Album at the American Music Awards tonight. She looked put out that she had to stand up!

We can agree to disagree, deeconsistent. I generally assume that many big celebs (and not so big celebs) aren't the nicest because fame is an ego drug and that gets ugly fast. Mick Jagger is a charming/jerk. Tommy Lee is a charming/jerk. Jay-Z is a charming/jerk.
I was watching Minaj's show the other day and also last night (on E!?) and she basically spends 30 minutes each episode complaining, yelling at staffers, and talking about how hard her life is (I'm sure it's very stressful, but that's not interesting TV). It was annoying. On top of her music being annoying/vapid (although mildly catchy the first 40 times it's on loop on the Top 40 station), so is her personality it seems. I mean, generally entertainers know to turn off the teenage tantrums and silly smack talk when the camera is on.
Also, LOL with tonight's episode. Lil Wayne shows up to write a verse in the studio for one of her songs. She goes on and on about how he's the best rapper, and she loves to collaborate with him. Then they show him in the studio listening to her music with some guy. Minaj is in another room behind glass. Then she leaves to film a video or something and he lays the tracks down without her in the same building. Collaboration!
With Twitter, I am less offended by misspellings and bad grammar. But it's alarming how many celebs come off as grade-school ignorant on general politics. And then, there are the folks who make homophobic/racist tweets. And then there's the ones who you wonder if they're crazy, and then it's confirmed a year or so later (Amanda Bynes, I hope you get it together). Yeah.

What am I missing here - where's the racist part? Don't apologize, Steven. I can't stand anything about this chick.

What am I missing here - where's the racist part? Don't apologize, Steven. I can't stand anything about this chick. Unfortunately, many people assume black people don't like, or know nothing about, any music that's not hip hop or R&B. I don't know if that's what Steven meant, but that would be what Nicki's annoyed about.

And unfortunately she jumped immediately to call racism because he seems to think that she'll be a crap judge. I think she will be too. But then again - Steven sucked at it as well.
