Poussey could turn me any day! Oh, wait... Hey, I ain't ashamed to admit she makes my hetero heart go pitty pat, big time! And while I'm not usually a fan of nepotism, I wonder if this means there will be more better bigger storylines for Poussey in the upcoming season. YAY! That said, I gotta feel sorry for her hubby. I mean, he was probably really excited when she landed this writing gig- probably read 1st drafts of her scripts and everything... Then at some point came to realize "Oh crap! I've become LARRY!!"

"Life imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life".... I hope they're happy together and that her husband finds new love, too.

I had to make a day trip out of town yesterday and on my way back I had an encounter that made me think of OITNB.
I stopped to get gas at an exit that's not near a town--kind of rural-ish. New station, but rural town. As I was pumping my gas I heard Pennsatucky's voice going on and on about something. It sounded just like her. But it was some meth-looking woman with a towel on her head (like when you get out of the shower) trying to talk her way out of something with a store manager in front of the store. I went the station to the bathroom and when I came out she was hanging out of an old beat-up car, still talking away as the manager wrote down the license plate. Same voice and cadence as Pennsatucky. It was weird.
Anyway, I know a lot of people don't like Taryn Manning and I dislike the character but I think Taryn Manning really gives a good performance. She nails the meth-head thing. I was just thinking about that since I saw the real thing in action yesterday.

OK! Brief feminist type rant on the way! Fair warning!!
But I wound up watching 'Escape from Alcatraz' over the Thanksgiving weekend out of boredom mostly. Anyway, there's a scene where one of the guards offers Clint Eastwood a job in the prison woodworking shop and says he'll get 15 cents an hour! My first thought: 'THE WOMEN ON OITNB ONLY GET 11 CENTS AN HOUR!!!' And Escape from Alcatraz took place in the 60's so even considering inflation and all there's nothing even close to equal pay here! Not even in prison!!! GRRRRRRRR!!!!
And in less ranty news, when does this show start again? I tried to look it up on IMDB but couldn't find a date. Lots of episodes have been named (though I avoided any descriptions for spoiler reasons) but no dates that I saw.
I need mah Poussey fix, y'all!!

I just looked it up and it's supposed to air sometime in summer 2015, although that's not confirm.
I kind of have a thing for Caputo, and noticed he's been made a series regular. Good for him! (Poussey, Black Cindy, Lorna, Alex, and Gloria have all been promoted to series regulars also.)

Good news. Poussey should be a series regular.

YES. I really wasn't feeling OITNB until Poussey and Taystee appeared, so my enjoyment of the series is pretty closely tied to them.

Ok, I'm calling it! Best Dressed Cast at the SAG awards!! GOR-GEOUS!!!!! Laverne had the best dress of all. But I loved Uzo knitted yellow criss-cross gown too! All the dresses were fabulous (except Flacka's which hurt my eyes... but probably look good at a distance) and the tux's were gorgeous too!! I think Caputo's first order as the New Assistant Warden should be to change the prison dress code and exchange the oranges and beiges for evening wear! Same goes for the guards uniforms!! Get on that, stat, Caputo!
