Irving! Yay! And Katrina's hair looked great, for once. Plus: no Henry!
That "angel" was annoying, though. But I couldn't tell if it was just bad acting.

I liked Orion far more than Katrina. At least, he had presence. Katrina, OTOH, continues to be shady as hell. I was happy to see Ichabod regain his balls. Katrina has manipulated him throughout their marriage and he allowed it. Blind to her machinations. Finally, she got shut down. Though, she was right about Abraham. Sort of. Hawley can go. Wishy washy men are annoying and it's just as Jenny said, he's constantly shifting. Jenny looked amazing tonight. Get it girl! Abbie was fierce as ever. I liked her challenging Ichabod. She's right. They need checks and balances, not blind allegiance. No Henry. Yay! Irving lives! Whoo hoo! Thank you! Trollando is back!

I'm done with the show. I realized that the most enjoyment I got out of it were Ichabod and Abbie's scenes where he would huff, "Modern life is absurd!" and Abbie would roll her eyes or point out inconsistencies in his logic. Over time, it seems like these interludes were confined to the first scene. When the last or next to last episode over the winter break plunged straight into the action (and IIRC rescuing Katrina), I didn't watch. I have to agree with everyone that the entire Katrina arc and character is a weak spot in the show.

I'm hanging in there til at least the end of this season- but only because I'm hoping for some more kickassness from Irving- that will not result in his death a second go 'round. What I fear though, is that we'll get a bunch of:
IRVING: OMG! I'm alive and I don't know why!!! ABBIE: We'll figure something out- but you better hide since it'll freak people out to see you back from the dead! IRVING: *hiding hiding hiding* KATRINA: Oh, I shall work my MAGIC to aid the Captain in his quest for answers! IRVING: *hiding hiding hiding* KATRINA: *twirling, Latinating, crushing stuff up, managing to get kidnapped in the midst of magic making, waiting to be rescued by Crane, getting back to spell, making some symbol go poof in the air, looking pensive, still wearing corset, getting kidnapped once more, waiting passively for rescue, studying contents caldron, looking more pensive.* ... Very quickly, before I am ultimately kidnapped again and must await rescue from my beloved, I must tell you all that I found no answers to the Captain's dilemma! IRVING: *popping head out for first time in several episodes* Well damn! *goes back into hiding* KATRINA: *promptly kidnapped*
As for this episode- Orion added nothing to the mix that doesn't already annoy me when watching Supernatural (Angel politics?!?! Why do shows continue to think we'd care?!?)
Jenny looked smoking at the bar, but was wasted as usual. I'm still patiently waiting for her to get back to asskicking and am tired of her always hovering over Hawley's shoulder to see what new gadget he discovers. Hawley is FETCH, y'all. Stop trying to make Hawley happen!! You know what annoys me the most about Hawley- besides the fact his presence sucks up time that could be devoted to Jenny or Irving. All his helpful artifacts- he always just HAS them. We never see him actually search for them Indiana Jones style (which might at least involve getting chased by a boulder and wearing a sexy Fedora) Nope, he just has this stuff somehow- and also just happens to know how it works. He's the Exposition Fairy, Deux ex Machina and Answer Man all in one- without being the least bit charming or interesting. The role he plays WAS already being played by Jenny. Corbin trained her to be a seeker/finder/knower of mysterious thingamabobs and it was already established that she spent much of her life obtaining such knowledge and getting jailed for illegal activities in her pursuit of such things (We didn't see her being chased by boulders or wearing sexy Fedoras. But it was implied!) We don't need Hawley at all!!! I'm sure he's completely the result of a FOX Executive note scribbled along the lines of 'This show needs more white people- and another man to tell the women folk what's what!' UGH!!!
Oh and I totally hate the continued theme of 'Ohhhh, but this supremely evil person who has done nothing but cause mayhem and the murder of innocents just needs our understanding and support!' It's not only ridiculous, it's lazy and repetitive. Henry and Bram were pretty awful right from the beginning AND they were both HORSEMEN of the Friggin' Apocalypse for crying out loud. Geez! I'm sure even the late Rodney King would be all 'Yeah... we just don't need to get along with THESE folks!' Redemption Arcs on this show are Fetch too!
More Irving! More Jenny! Less Head on the Horseman (his head is so WHINY when on!!) Less or Zero Hawley! Crane finally dumping Katrina and Katrina going evil or disappearing all together and this show could be worth watching.
As it is, I don't expect a third season- and if there is one I won't be watching... Not unless Orlando Jones starts tweeting: 'Man, you won't believe all the lines I'm having to learn for Season 3! And I'm so sore from all the stunts and action scenes, y'all!' Then I might tune in... ;-)

Shoot, thought that he might dump Katrina last night. No such luck.

This barely held my interest last night. I think I might be done.

It got its lowest ratings last night. From the sound of the recent press releases, they will continue to give us the Crane family hour, sidelining Jenny, Frank, even Abbie, in the chase for the beauty that is the Cranes' relationships.

Falling faster than Glee ever did which is too too bad, it had such promise. When Ichabod approached Katrina at the end of the episode I really thought he was going to end their relationship.
