I still think she's going to have Elizabeth Berkeley's career.
And I agree about being a celebrity spawn. Spoiled, catered to kids who never had to prove themselves, and have no idea what to do outside of "the business". She seems really fragile like Melanie.... and I have no doubts that she has a lot of issues.

That's really sad if true, and it certainly seems like it with her demeanor. Both of her parents are addicts in recovery, so I could see her being someone with those issues.
I doubt she will even have Elizabeth Berkeley's career. Saved by the Bell was beloved, and she was loved on it. Showgirls is amazing trash, and after the initial embarrassment, she owned it. It was also a rebellion role for her, after being known for her goody-goody role. And, she has occasionally worked with notable directors like Oliver Stone. Plus, she seems nice and doesn't benefit from nepotism (that I know of).
It will be interesting to see what Dakota Johnson's career fallout or bump will be after 50 comes out. The dude has been giving LOTS of interviews and photo ops. She has not. And that can make a difference for young person's career. At this point, I have seen more quotes from her Dad about it, and he seems to think this is some throwaway stepping stone part. Which is kind of condescending to the cast.

Didn't Dakota go to rehab when she was a teenager? There were all those photos of her smoking with Melanie when she was underage and it was defended along the lines of 'better to smoke a cigarette than the other things she'd been up to.' She just seems miserable.

I loved her show "Ben and Kate" which co-starred Nat Faxon. She has really good comic timing, so I'm rooting for her to have a successful career. However, I don't like her or anyone enough to go see 50 Shades.

She is a recovering addict, but Melanie, Antonio and Don kept many of the details out of the press- which I applaud them for. And yes, she was papped smoking at 13-14. My most vivid memory of her was at the Golden Globes. She was sullen, and looked like she wanted to be anywhere other than on stage. I was actually shocked to learn she became an actress.
The happiest I've seen her was with Cumby and her girl friend right after the Met Gala.

However, I don't like her or anyone enough to go see 50 Shades. I really liked her in that too. I also thought she was pretty funny in The Five Year Engagement. If 50 shades hadn't happened I think she could have carved out a moderately successful career as a supporting actress in the vein of Lake Bell or Amanda Peet. Hopefully after 50 Shades bombs she can go back to that. But I forgot who her parent are and that they were both pretty messed up back in the day. That is a lot of baggage to overcome. Is she still with her Scientologist boyfriend? That won't help her either.

...she is miserable and has no personality when she's sober. As someone who also loved her on Ben and Kate, and as someone who is also miserable and has no personality while sober, I've always vaguely pulled for her, and was surprised at how bad I felt for her when I heard she'd gotten the 50 Shades part. I can't even imagine a way in which this isn't a total career killer, for her and the main dude.

I loved Jamie Dornan in The Fall with Gillian Anderson and think he's got the chops to survive this. He has incredible charisma with Gillian and they're barely in any scenes together. I don't think Dakota has the career momentum to survive.

Anyway, I think Dakota looks like both her parents. I see Dakota's face as a more feminine version of her father with her mother's skin tone.

Damn, she's bland as hell. She's the brunette version of Suki Waterhouse(?). In 2 minutes, I won't be able to remember her face. I still can't pick Suki out of a line-up either.
