From Wikipedia: Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike (born 27 January 1979) is an English actress who first came to international attention when she played Bond girl Miranda Frost in Die Another Day (2002). Since then her films roles have included Jane Bennet in Pride and Prejudice (2005), Nikki Gardner in Fracture (2007), Alex in Fugitive Pieces (2007), Helen in An Education (2009), Miriam Grant-Panofsky in Barney's Version (2010), Lisa Hopkins in Made in Dagenham (2010), Kate Sumner in Johnny English Reborn (2011), Queen Andromeda in Wrath of the Titans (2012), Helen Rodin in Jack Reacher (2012) and Sam Chamberlain in The World's End (2013).I decided to start a thread on Rosamund Pike because of the second Gone Girl trailer that came out yesterday. I'm not sure if she'll win an Oscar, but at certain award prognosticating sites, she's been crowned the winner/front runner already since right now there doesn't seem to be a lot of strong competition based on buzz of some of the other top possible contenders other than Reese Witherspoon for Wild. If she doesn't win, I have a good feeling that she'll at least be nominated and that she'll have similar success like Mara Rooney did after The Girl With a Dragon Tattoo. Here she is at a Dior show yesterday.

I think she is such a bland actress that I can't imagine her being good in any role. She got outacted by Tom Cruise in that awful Jack Reacher movie.

She wasn't my first choice for Amy but I'm liking what I see in the trailer. If she pulls it off she could be looking at an Oscar nom and a huge career boost.
I think other names being bandied around for best actress are Julianne Moore for maps to the stars and Jessica Chastain for The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby. Both previous nominees so they may have an edge unless Rosamund blows the field away.
I always wanted to know the dirt around her split from her fiancée Joe Wright who directed her in Pride & Prejudice. Gossip had her sending out a save the date card with a pic of them in a hot tub and he threw a fit and ditched her.

I think that the release in October may hurt her chances at a nom unless she just blows people away. I don't really see it happening period, but I guess I'll reserve judgement until I see the movie.
I had no idea she was engaged to the obscenely talented Joe Wright.

I think she's absolutely stunning and I loved her in the Keira Knightley version of Pride and Prejudice, which, incidentally, I love and adore beyond reason and certainly beyond its merits.

She is one of those actresses who I just can't stand for some reason. I don't know why. Sorry Rosamund!

I agree - she really bugged me in that movie - it was actually a pretty good part and more than the standard woman-in-danger, but she did nothing with it. She didn't emote at all. I also wasn't too impressed with her voiceover in the new trailer.

I'll be the dissenter. I love her and have in P&P and An Education. I think she makes a great Amy and I think she's really striking. I'm glad they went with a less known actress opposite "Afflack!"
I actually think he'll be fine too because he's totally playing to his type. This is like Jerry McGuire-level typecasting.
