I remember when he was cast as Batman and everyone freaked out, and then he turned out to be great. And managed to do it without sounding like he he scrubs his vocal cords with a Brillo pad.
I too wonder why he took a break from his career (or at least seemed to). He's always been good. I haven't seen Birdman yet, but I've heard nothing but good things. And I agree that Cumberbatch and Redmayne will have plenty more opportunities. I got my fingers crossed for Keaton, if only for his body of work.

Night Shift should be a more famous 80's movie. He is very funny and very quotable in it, especially his explanation of the word "Prostitution". "Is this a great country or what?"
I think he (and Julianne) is going to win the Oscar, too, although I haven't seen Birdman either. He also should have received some critical notice for Clean and Sober. Plus, he was lovestruck Ken in Toy Story 3!
He's good at his job, is what I'm saying.

I've always liked him and I'm pulling for him to win for Birdman. Plus I really like this quote when asked if he was bothered by the new Batman (from US Magazine):

Mr. Mom and the Dream Team are my Keaton faves. Hilarious in both.

Mr. Mom is one of the few movies from 'the day' that I would really like to see remade. I still quote this one often too. "You're doing it wrong!" "Scotch?" "It's amazing what you can do with a Sears card!" "220, 221. Whatever it takes."

One of my cats has had a long-term monogamous relationship (~13 years) with a fleece headband of mine and I call it her "woobie" after Kenny's blanket in Mr. Mom. I need to go back and rewatch that movie. It has been far too long since I have seen it.

Screw Batman, he was Beetlejuice! He gets a life-time pass from me.

Was looking for the perfect way to unwind after a busy day and this thread reminded me that watching Mr. Mom and/or Clean and Sober would be the perfect way to do that.

Oh man, I love Beetlejuice. He only has about 18 minutes of screen time but he made every second count.
Game 6 is a good movie too. I think I'm the only one that saw it though.

To this day, when I say or think "You're doing it wrong!" it's in that kid's voice.
