Sad! I am pretty much phobic about surgery, too, so I get it. I hope he gets the help he needs! Such a nice guy...

Poor Richard. I agree, he seems like such a nice guy who has always brought a lot of joy and enthusiasm to others. It really seems a shame for him to be depressed and in seclusion. I hope things get better for him soon.

Bless his heart, this is really sad. He's always been so willing to give of himself to raise other people's spirits, it's heartbreaking to hear he's not doing well. I second what sardonic tart said. He's like The Muppets and Mr. Rogers for me as well.

Yeah, it just don't feel right knowing Richard Simmons is bummed out. He brings so much joy that you just want him to be happy too. I hope he gets the help/surgery/whatever he needs and starts to feel better.
I always thought it was cool that he still regularly led classes at Slimmons.

Ah, man. I hope he can get the help he needs and get better. We don't need another one to go in 2016.

I swear, I said a little prayer before opening the thread. ? I hope he is getting what he needs.

I follow him on Facebook and he's been posting regularly, but they are always generic "have a positive day!" kind of posts and I doubt he's the one posting them.
I love Simmons and hope he's okay.

People is reporting that he has been hospitalized for dehydration and is feeling much better. Having seen first-hand the loopiness and disorientation that can accompany dehydration, I hope that's all that's wrong--it's a relatively easy fix. I also hope that he gets a full exam to make sure that's all that's wrong.

How would someone who is essentially housebound with a knee injury get dehydrated to the point of incoherence?
