What happened to second-in-command guy (totally spacing on his name)? When he came in with Olivia and crazy guy with gun, was he drunk? He seemed totally crazed. Vernon. They showed him being a recovering addict in past episodes. In this episode, in a very brief scene before Olivia and her thug boyfriend met with him, Vernon had a little packet of white powder that he was fiddling with just before they interrupted him. Somewhere before arriving with them at Luscious's place, Vernon obviously dipped deeper into his little packet of white powder. It was a very brief scene though and got quickly overshadowed by other events. But Vernon's clearly off the wagon at this point in the show. He put some on his teeth/gums and took out a rolled up bill when they came up to him, if I remember correctly. Well I think most of the people watching this show loves Cookie so I can imagine why Malcolm would.

Starting at Noon on Saturday FX is showing a marathon of the show leading up to Wednesdays finale. My family won't be leaving the house. I have a decision to make. My daughter's dance classes end at 9:30 Wednesday, and we do not get home until 10:15 at the earliest, and the show is two hours long. I'm deciding if she should skip class and be penalized, or go, then she's up until midnight on a school night. Watching later is not an option, because everyone at her school watches this show, and would spoil it for her the next day. I kind of hate how popular this show is, but I love that it is popular.

I really don't know why, but this dilemma makes me happy. I love it when we get a new pop culture icon!

Anyone else think that Luscious may end up being misdiagnosed & he won't have ALS? I know his hands were shaking and he lost his voice once but that could be from something else.I think he'll end up with something curable.

I have wondered if a misdiagnosis is a possibility. It's really all they can do if they want to keep the show going AND keep Luscious on it (Although there's always flashbacks... and he could turn out to have a long lost identical twin brother)
I don't remember him getting a second opinion. And maybe the shaking and ALS like symptoms will be explained by Anika DRUGGING him! And her dad was in cahoots with the Doc who 'misdiagnosed' him! It was all a plot to force him to marry Anika and sign the Empire over to her!!
Yes, that's how it all turns out in my Empire Fan Fic. That and the introduction of a BEAUTIFUL Mary Sue type character named GirlyGhoul whom all the attractive straight men fall in love with and all the women feel compelled to give their clothes and shoes to. Of course, it is GirlyGhoul who ultimately takes over the Empire!!! Ermm... that and the Anika faked Luscious's ALS plot...

I follow the official Empire Facebook page and the comments from fans are hilarious and discuss issues similar to yours. People talk about putting their kids to bed an hour early (7pm in the case of tomorrow!) and turning off their phones to eliminate any distractions. One woman was planning a finale party then quickly scrapped that idea when she realized that her friends were talkers and would babble during key dialogue scenes and no way was this woman going to miss a Cookie one-liner!

Take her to class, PVR the show, let her stay home tomorrow (at least in the morning) to watch with you.
