Was Jessa supposed to be a keynote speaker, or just a panelist or something?

Missionaries in the church I use to belong to were constantly fundraising for their mission, even though the mission activities were through an official organization. They had to have x amount of money raised before their mission started, and then have another amount come in each month to sustain them. Members of the congregation who were moved to help support them were encouraged to do so with a monthly commitment over the period of their mission (usually 1-3 years). All the money was funneled through the official mission organization, who paid for their expenses and gave them a living stipend. Is it customary for them not to mention the official organization? I checked the Dillard blog and, not only is S.O.S. Ministries never named, it is strongly implied that Jill and Derick are going it alone with the start of "our new ministry." Maybe the people who would be most likely to donate to them are in the know, but to someone like me who is unfamiliar with the missionary lifestyle, all I see deception and money grubbing.

I can't link but I just read a report that Josh Duggar is missing from the treatment center. It was written by Vyckie Garrison who runs the No Longer Quivering website. ETA: I need to read more carefully. According to the article, it's possible Josh is not at RU and is instead in some other place in Arkansas called the Grace Bible Training Center, or something else entirely. Link.

Oooh fishy. I will say, there are a lot of strip clubs in and around Rockford...
And Paragould is like middle of nowhere Arkansas, if there is even more of such a place. Who knows.

So far they're keeping her as a guest speaker. If I were an attendee, I'd be really annoyed that this uneducated 22yo whose main accomplishments are reality TV and victim blaming is being promoted as someone to look up to.

I'd be mildly interested in hearing her speak about her life on a reality show, but other than that, not so much.

Since the official organization was a branch of our church (Wesleyan) and they were mainly fundraising in churches, there wasn't any mention. I'm not sure if their handouts or webpage mentioned the missionary organization, but I know their emails (which I still get every month, even though I quite supporting them 7 years ago, does have a link to donate money through the organization).
I'm less suspicious, having been in that world. While it would be better for Derek & Jill to write about their mission being through an organization, they may not realize how it seems to non-church people or how little trust many people have of the Duggar brand.
