Porn is like one of the ultimate sins to these people. They bring it up a lot. The evils of porn are at the center of Kirk Cameron's Fireproof, a movie Josh and Anna went to see together when they were "courting." It took me a while to figure out KC and his on-screen wife were arguing about it because they were using all these Christian code words and phrases when referring to it. Porn is so scary to them that they are afraid to openly speak of it. ETA: I thought this moment in the interview was a little awkward ( 18:25) Did the "babysitter" forgive Josh really? Was the other victim really the babysitter? I remember articles when the story first broke stating that the other victim was a daughter of a family friend. I think it was Jim Bob who used the word babysitter (and we all know what a liar he is). I may be nitpicking, but I think they are going with calling her a babysitter because that implies an older girl and they'd rather everyone forget about Josh's interest in younger girls. I could be reading too much into it. It just seemed to me that both Jessa and Jill made this "I'm lying" face when the babysitter was brought up. Regardless, it's really not the Duggars place to speak for the fifth victim, even if she did express forgiveness to Josh, because they are implying that her forgiveness is of the same "no big deal, whatever, moving on" variety as theirs. Everybody doesn't forgive in the same way for the same reasons. Only she has the right to express what those reasons are. Your thoughts about the "I'm lying face" reminded me to check in with Eyes for Lies: Duggar comments hereFor those of you who don't know, she is sort of like a human lie detector. I recommend reading the "About" section so you can draw your own conclusion about how legit you think she is, but her observations are always thought provoking.

Why would that family need a babysitter? They've got them built-in. Also, I'm a very light sleeper, admittedly, but I cannot imagine sleeping through being, at the very least, felt up. Not that that makes it any better if they did, but I think *they* think it's more 'innocent' if they claim they never even knew what Josh was doing to them. I have slept through a wailing smoke detector right over my bed...and my roommate throwing things at it to knock it off the wall so she could take the batteries out.

I find it interesting that these people who have gotten rich from the media now whine and cry that they are victims because of it.

I'm a heavy sleeper too! I think i could get through solitary confinement by sleeping my time away.
Ok, I made one post about the Duggars before this and I never watched the show or anything. Again I express my outrage- this guy fingerfucked his sisters. I don't get it why are his parents and sisters all over the media explaining things away. Here's the deal: you cannot violate another human for your own sexual gratification. This isn't an ambiguous case, like an 18 year old sexting a 16 year old. There's actual police reports and stuff and the fact that no one denies it happened. So I hate the world today. Thank you for listening

The girls used the same phrases and words as their parents. They made sure to say they all went to an accredited counselor, that Josh paid for his own counseling, and that it was all over the clothes. I didn't understand how they supposedly had to be told what had happened to them because they were sleeping and unaware yet they were instructed to tell the police everything that happened? So did they lie when they said that they were unaware it had happened or did they just tell the police what their parents told them had happened?

What CAgirl said. They all emphasize LICENSED counselor. My guess is that he was yelled at repeatedly that he was going to burn in hell and to REPENT!!! These kids have had that kind of stuff all their lives. And yes, how can you "tell the truth" when there supposedly isn't any truth to tell.
ETA: Is this babysitter a real person?

I detected some wiggle room on the girls statements - I think they knew they were touched (and it probably felt wrong) but they didn't understand sexual molestation until their parents told them.

Based on the few minutes of the interview I could stand to watch, one thing became quite clear...these two are definitely lost causes as far as breaking away from the clan.
Jill seems dim and naive and Jessa would be a mean girl in the "real" world. I wanted to slap her for constantly trying to talk over Jill.

Jessa had her full on smug look on, just daring anyone to question her and her family. She didn't reach out and comfort Jill when she started to cry, she is in it for herself. Maybe there is hope for Jana, but I don't think she will leave her younger female siblings. I can't believe that Derick is totally fine with locking up any future sisters that Israel may have to keep them safe from him. Come on Derick, your mother has just made it through a major health situation, you have had a reality check, this crap shouldn't be fine with you.

Jill and Jessa just kept up that litany of "We're victims of the media". Barf.
