JM is the star and a producer on the show. If Archie was that much of a pain in the ass for the cast & crew to work with, I see no reason why they wouldn't have written her off years earlier. The fact that she stuck around albeit in a marginalized role tells me that they wanted her to stay on the show.

If the feud was down to AP winning an Emmy in Season 1, then what the hell happened to send it nuclear in Season 4? I wish they still made those E! True Hollywood Stories because I would love to hear all about JM being a bitch, I've heard whispers about her diva antics over the years but they seem to have finally gone mainstream with this story. Good for Archie for standing up to the lies from JM and the Kings, she has a sterling set of balls.

JM simply has a mean face. What's the saying? You are born with the face you deserve. There are a handful of other actresses that come to mind that, just based on their looks alone, give off that bitch vibe. Goop had that petulant scowl right out the gate when she first appeared on Pitt's arm.

JM simply has a mean face. What's the saying? You are born with the face you deserve. Nature gives you the face you have at 20. At 50, you get the face you deserve. I think it was more originally about how well you take care of yourself, but a lot of people do use it to describe olds with b-face. I don't watch "The Good Wife" and when I first started following this drama, I was a little surprised that the show is not about a housewife who is very good at "wifely" duties. That being said, this whole thing fascinates me. To me, it sounds less like a running feud/rivalry and more like there was probably one big blow up and JM (and possibly the producers) never moved past it. Every couple of months, I'll go on an intense infohunt, but there isn't really any good onset gossip that has leaked. Archie seems to be better liked among the cast, but most reports say she asked to leave and wasn't fired, which makes me think it's not just Juliana being jealous or a diva.

I had an account that expired years ago and have been lurking for a while, but I had to chime in here!
I guess I'll be one of the outliers (along with luminosa) and say I can't stand the Kalinda character! Since I've never seen Panjabi in anything else, I can't say I like her much as an actress either. Despite this, I didn't have an opinion of her personally (pre-feud) and the "Margulies is the problem" arguments were pretty convincing. If she's the star, couldn't she just get rid of a troublemaking Panjabi?
However, I also follow Tara Ariano on Twitter and I have to believe that there are two sides to this story. I didn't see T.A. interacting with industry people per se, but I did see some replies to her from writers/reporters who write about Film/TV. Perhaps I'm being naive, but I've been following some of those same writers/reporters for a while and I trust them. If they heard Panjabi was the problem, I'm assuming it's at least partially true. For what it's worth, I don't think any of them have reported on the story themselves (so I don't think they're criticizing Panjabi for page views or to maintain on-set access to Margulies or anything like that). Either way, I'm so curious to see what comes next. Some stated that this candor might not work out in Panjabi's favor!
One reason being floated for the feud (which only the nuttiest people seem to believe): real life imitating art, with Panjabi sleeping with Margulies' husband. Her infamously super-hot husband!
I must say I can't fully believe the "Margulies is jealous of the attention Panjabi was getting" angle. Panjabi won the Emmy a long time ago, and (as noted) the discomfort seemed to start 3-4 years after her win. I know Kalinda was a fan favorite at one point, but I would wager most "Good Wife" fans prefer Baranski over either of them.
This feud aside, I also think it's easy to be pop culture-savvy and have no idea who Archie Panjabi is. The show raised her profile, for sure. But it's not like it has the same cultural impact as "Mad Men" or "Game of Thrones." Objectively speaking, she's never gotten more attention than Margulies and that makes it hard for me to believe Margulies is simply envious. Plus, Margulies won the Golden Globe that first year (I remember there being a moment between her and Clooney at the show). Wikipedia says she also won the SAG and the Television Critics Association Awards (so, lots of popular and critical acclaim for her at the start).
I'm largely surprised the drama is being addressed at all. I thought all parties would just continue to brush it off.

I do that same infohunt, and end up just as disappointed! I don't think Archie asked to leave, I think she just chose not to renew when her contract was up. Which considering the work environment, and the material she had to work with, makes total sense to me.

I would wager most "Good Wife" fans prefer Baranski over either of them. I'd take Baranski over pretty much anyone, anytime.

I liked the Kalinda character before she turned into Super Kalinda. Her friendship with Alicia was nice to see.

Yes, this. I'm also someone who didn't like Kalinda, she was so super awesome all the time.
Just when the case seemed hopeless, look here comes Super!Kalinda with a crucial tide-turning piece of evidence that she acquired illegally but ::shrug:: And who wears boots and a fully zipped up tight leather jacket every damn day?
As for the feud, it usually takes two to tango, or tangle. And even if JM was jealous of Archie's Emmy* win, JM won twice after that, so it seems like an odd thing to hold on to.
(*And while wiki-ing that, I noticed that Kathy Baker from Picket Fences won three times, and the show won best drama twice, and yet it's not available anywhere! Just bitching because.)

In looking at IMDB, JM became a producer midway through season 3. I would guess she used her pull afterwards to make sure she never had to share a scene with Archie again. So while she could have been mad after the Emmy win, she couldn't do anything about it until she became a producer. I don't know the truth, but it appears so one sided, with JM and the Kings ignoring the issue when asked, but Archie saying she has no problems with anyone and then was not even asked to the Paley fest, not even knowing about it. It comes off as if they even told the rest of the cast not to tell Archie, which is just wrong. Based on that I'm putting the vast majority of the blame on producers/JM.
And I still like The Good Wife and JM's acting, and Super Kalinda was annoying, but not because of Archie but the writing for the character/not sharing scenes with the main actor.
