I never could stand watching Joan on FP (I think a couple of body shaming comments and I was done) but I would totally watch Kathy Griffith.

Wow. I didn't know what a shitbag Carson was! Blacklisting guests if they went on Joan's show? He was CARSON. It's not like it would have been a competition.
I remember my mom having Joan's Heidi Bromowitz (?) book and reading it at an age I had no business to do so. I'm sure half of it flew over my head at the time, but from the things I got, she was effing hilarious. (And I got into mad trouble when Mom found out. haha.)
I never could get down with Joan's meanness, but I always admired her for blazing the big ass trail that she did. Good on you, Joan! I hope you're whooping it up wherever you are.

I am so down for Kathy taking over, and I'm sure Joan would have been, too. I don't know if they will hire Kathy, though. I really hope they don't give the job to Melissa just because. I mean, Melissa obviously doesn't have to work if she doesn't want to, so I really think she should give up on the whole showbiz thing. It's just not for her. I'm coincidentally reading Kathy Griffin's memoir and I've LOL'd on the NY subway more than once.

Yet another reason to never want to be a celebrity. This doctor sounds like the type that's really into the idea of being "the doctor to the stars."

It's sad to think that she was failed by the people she trusted most to look after her at her most vulnerable. Small comfort to her family, but I hope those at fault are prosecuted.

The Hollywood Reporter is saying that Kathy Griffin is currently topping the list of contenders to replace Joan on FP. ETA: Here's a link.

I hope she does. I watch FP with a couple of friends each weekend (it's part of our girls night in) and when we talked about whether the show would continue and who would replace Joan, we all immediately thought of Kathy Griffin. I hope it works out, she'd be perfect.
