Is she still together with Billy Crudup?
I never understood the hype about her. Everything I have seen her in (I Love You, I love you Not; Little Women; Romeo & Juliet) she has been mediocre

She appears to be getting uglier. In the previews for "Shopgirl" she looks about 40, but she must be about 27.
I just roll my eyes when B-listers complain about getting hassled by the paps or being tired from doing so many important interviews. I really doubt many people give a whit about interviewing her these days. She peaked at age 16 with that silly "My So-Called Life" show.

The one thing I can't stand about her is her I'm-about-to-cry face. God, didn't she do that in, like, every eppy of MSCL? Drove me flippin' nuts. Now, though, when I watch Little Women, I laugh out loud when her face starts to crumple (which, I think, happens a lot in that movie) and boo at the TV.

Yeah, that lip-quivering crap was effective once, twice, maybe even three times. Now it's at a point where, when I see her do it, (which is in EVERYTHING she is in) I want to punch a hole through my TV.

She's terrific in SHOPGIRL< which I just saw...a real unexpected career rebound. Proves that there is indeed life after MOD SQUAD. Right now, I have her up for an Oscar.

I loved MSCL, but what happened to her career? She had the show, Romeo and Juliet, and then things went really quiet.

I thought she was great in Stage Beauty.

I loved the stuff she did early in her career (MSCL, Romeo and Juliet, Little Women... even, god, To Gillian on her 37th Birthday), and I pegged her as someone to watch because it seemed like her career could have legs. Then she went super skinny and gave all these dumb-ass interviews about how shocking it was that she wasn't eating for her career (maybe to you). Then she made some real bombastic crap (Polish Wedding, Mod Squad... a lot of random stuff). Then she got pretentious without actually being smart. And other than Igby Goes Down (which I liked more for Kieran Culkin, Amanda Peet, and Susan Sarandan) I can't stand her. She's like this big dumb wet face I can't look at anymore.
I've repeatedly heard that Shop Girl is a flawed movie, but the she will be Oscar nominated.

I will root for anyone other than Gwyneth to be nominated and/or win the Oscar.

She has the same face expressions in all her movies. Might be because they cast her as the sad girl with the heart of gold. I've seen a couple of movies including Brokedown Palace (the one with Kate Beckinsale in Thailand) and there's nothing special about her. Just another B-lister, average talent, average beauty.
Shopgirl didn't exactly earn rare reviews and a lot more movies are coming out until December. The movie got 56 % on Rotten Tomatoes. I wouldn't exactly call it Oscar-friendly.
