Ok, despite my advanced age, my knowledge of Kate is limited to This Woman's Work and Running Up the Hill (the singles) and the Sensual World. I completely want to get the Wuthering Heights single (how I missed the existence of that, I'll never know). Where should I start with Kate's CDs? What do you fans suggest? Should I go with the Kick Inside or start later? Thanks.

My first Kate album was "Hounds Of Love" - before that, I thought she was "that weird woman with the high-pitched voice"! (her voice got so much richer and lovelier later on, IMO) Then I got "The Whole Story", her compilation. After that, I was so crazy about her that I went back and got her whole catalog, starting with "The Kick Inside". Each album is very different. "The Dreaming" is probably my favorite and it's very strange. So it's up to you. You could start with the compilation, just to get a vibe from each album. The singles are pretty representative overall.

In a recent interview she remarked that "celebrity kills creativity." Truer words have never been spoken. Love her.

Where has she been gone all this time? Well, I know she had her little boy, Bertie - but that's still an eternity. I was beginning to think she would never come back! Some of my favorite songs of hers are the ones that didn't make the albums, like "Warm And Soothing" and "Under The Ivy". They still give me goosebumps and, yes, move me to tears. *sigh* I love this woman so much. Where can I find these songs?

Man you all are going to hate hate hate hate me, but I much perfer Pat Benatar's version of Wuthering Heights. If you listen to Kate after listening to Pat well lets justs say The Chipmunks come to mind.
I will still always and forever cry bucketloads when I hear This Woman's Work.

First song of her's I ever heard was "Wow" and then the second was Wuthering Heights.
Last thing I remember hearing was her duet with Peter Gabriel. It's been THAT long!
I wonder how the new album is?

Where can I find these songs? I have the 1990 boxed set - "This Woman's Work". All the B-sides are there, but it's pretty expensive (X-mas present from my Mom!). Maybe they are available online somewhere, but I don't know. Try the 1986 version. (Though I do like the Pat Benatar cover!) As for the new album: I haven't finished listening to it yet. Got choked up by track 4, so I had to stop. Hey, after 12 years, I'm savoring it! P.S. New avatar is my favorite pic of Kate. ETA : Thanks, WitchyPoo!
