I couldn't find her thread, so I guess it was one of those that were lost the day TomKitten arrived. Nothing that new to add, but the talk in the Orlando thread reminded me of just how bland she is. Are we really supposed to believe that she's Lois Lane, top reporter? Kate looks like she doesn't have the strength to do more than limp vaguely in the direction of a scoop. And this might count as a Superman spoiler: she was born in '83 but if what I've read about the plot is right, we're also supposed to believe that she has a five-year-old son - pic here. I wish they would have given that role to a grown woman. Has anything been said about the part Kevin Spacey might have played when it came to casting Lois? They were in Beyond the Sea together and I got the impression that he liked Kate.

I'm sure Kevin had a lot to do with her casting. I have to admit, bland or not (bland!) I like her and I'm not sure why. I was expecting the worst in Beyond the Sea and ended up liking her and thought she was good in Wonderland also. If I ever met her I would literally beg her to eat though. She is scary skinny now.

She was great and looked really pretty in Wonderland.

Well at least she didn't have to bake any cookies for Kevin...

Hehe, maybe she sent over someone that she knew that could bake him some cookies he'd like.

Has anything been said about the part Kevin Spacey might have played when it came to casting Lois? They were in Beyond the Sea together and I got the impression that he liked Kate. There was just something that came out recently that said Kevin did indeed recommend Kate for the part of Lois. Now, Kate fans will have you believe that all he did was recommend her and she did the rest. Kate haters will have you believe that Kate was recommended after everyone else turned down the role and that's why she got the part. I tend to sit somewhere in between. I know there were many names tossed around for the role and some that turned it down because they didn't want to be typecast. I find it hard to believe that Kate beat out a bunch of her peers, as I really don't think she is that great of an actress nor do think she'll be able to pull off Lois Lane as she's supposed to be. I think it was a combination of both. I think they were getting down to the wire to cast someone, Kevin recommended her (I don't know what he was thinking), she came cheap and was willing to do the movie and be typecast. She was somewhat of a name from her association with Orlando Bloom, but not big enough to detract from both Spacey and Brandon Routh.

I'd always been meh on her until I saw her on Letterman once. Usually, people go on Letterman and promote something. But Bosworth had no movie out, no tv show, nothing to promote. And she didn't talk. She just sat there giggling and acting coy and talking about dog passports and her eye color. A five minute conversation on her eye color. She also said she wouldn't talk about Bloom, and didn't, but kept mentioning her boyfriend over and over. Then she got so thin I could count her ribs. I'm glad she gained the weight, but I don't like her.

There is already a thread for her. Do a search and all that comes up is this thread. OP said she looked for it but couldn't find it. IF you want to search for it and link it here, we'll continue the discussion on that thread.
