Love him or hate him, he's not boring. His comments about Ann Coulter (more details in her thread) reminded me of why I love him.

After my last visit to the Coulter thread, I thought of starting a thread for Mr. Rollins...so thanks, jen! I really like the jack-of-all-trades aspect of his career (music, spoken word, TV, writing, radio). Wish I got IFC so that I could watch his show. He had a really cool radio show here in L.A. for awhile. His smackdown of Evil Incarnate Coulter was brilliant. As I mentioned in that thread, his little rant about the artistic merit of Richard Marx[/color] on "I Love the 80s" was one of the funniest things I ever saw on VH1. (Sadly, the link does not include video/audio.) Finally...I like to flatter myself that he once gave me the eye (in a good way) at the the only movie premiere party I ever attended. For some stupid reason, I didn't actually speak with him. I = LOSER.

I love this man. He's so awesome.
Not at all, proper stranger! I would have gone weak at the knees, too. He can have that effect on a girl.
I remember seeing the Rollins Band during the 1991 Lollapalooza tour (back when it was new and cool, and not the tired old commercialized cliche it became.). He is a great performer.
And the fact that he's bright, articulate, disciplined, and imbued with the proper political leanings only makes him that much more..well, awesome. I so would Henry Rollins.

I agree. He comes very, very close to being my definition of a perfect man. Masculine + in good way (i.e. not compensating) + funny as hell + smart as hell = perfect.
Is he married?
Because yeah...WOULD!

Dude is like my idol.
I used to have his Think Tank album (until someone borrowed it and hasn't given it back...grrr).
"No One is Fax Exempt"...genius. I mean, the other tracks are awesome, but this one, just rules.

He's a god amongst men, that's for sure. Add poetry and videogame celeb to his resume ( he popped up in Def Jam Vendetta: Fight for New York). One of the first bits I ever heard him do was the one about his trip to Russia and the aftermath and have been a fan since ;D
Oh and Duskwolf? If you ever need mp3s from that album, just let me know.

I thought someone would post this article that Henry Rollins wrote about suicide for LA Weekly in the Celebrity Dumb Quotes thread. I agree with a small part of it, but unfortunately I disagree with a whole lot of it. Usually I find Henry Rollins pretty sensible too, but at least he sincerely apologized and not one of those "I'm sorry if you were offended" type of apologies.

Irrelevant "rock star" gets double the attention for writing an obviously offensive piece. Nothing new. Henry's too smart to NOT know he was being inflammatory with that bullshit write-up. "I suffer from depression, too!" Yes, well, if you did, you'd know that sometimes you can't just "hang in there" as you suggested in your first wave of assholeishness.

Ugh, Henry! Henry, I loved you, you were one of the good guys. Why did you say this stuff?
