That's probably what happened, but you can delete posts here. You click on the little gear wheel thing and select "delete post." Just, FYI. I've done it before when I accidentally double-posted.

Ooooh! Sheesh. Duh. I thought The View withdrew their offer but could not find any articles saying as much (because obviously...).

Sorry for the confusion! I couldn't see where to delete. So I just 'withdrew' my comment.
I will just say that, even though I'm a Rosie fan (from her old talk show), I never really enjoyed her on The View. It never seemed like a good fit. And she was going through a sanctimonious phase as well - she was all about the war and everything was a 'distraction'. I remember when there was a dog food scandal, where a lot of dogs were dying, and Rosie termed that a distraction. I thought that was a good and valid use of the media - to get the message out. And I enjoy pop culture obsessed Rosie. Maybe there will be a good mix of the two this time around.

Has anyone been watching "The View"? I heard the rating were really goodApp for the season premiere. I also didn't know Rosie Perez was a panelist now! Apparently, Rosie and Whoopi are feuding. I find almost everything in this article believable, but I also wonder if there is a behind the scenes attempt to turn the show into youtube fodder again. I haven't seen any episodes with the new panelists, but the pic in that article just seems like it would be really boring compared to every previous panel. Even the ones with Lisa Ling.

I don't know that I buy Whoopi and Rosie fighting. I don't think Whoopi cares enough to bother fighting about the show. Some days it looks like she just rolled out of bed and wandered on to the set still in her PJs. They really should have given Rosie the moderator spot though because Whoopi just isn't engaged enough to moderate.

It was more about Rosie pushing Whoopi's buttons. I completely agree with you that Whoopi seems as if she couldn't care less about any happenings with the show now, but according to that article, she has begged to be bought out of her contract. I think her experience on "Hollywood Squares" taught her to craft an ironclad contract. I also suspect the producers may not have wanted Rosie to be moderator.

She has left The View and split from her wife. It's been confirmed by her rep.

Heading over to divorce pool thread... I was reading back through the thread and found a post of mine after Rosie's last wedding. Not that this one was hard to call or anything.
