She holds the honor of having the most number of songs lip synched (so far) on Rupaul's Drag Race.

I just went on a Paula YouTube binge. I had almost forgotten about "The Way that You Love Me". Paula's music was my homework break/hairbrush music back in the day.

Haha! I youtubed her greatest hits today, too. I also had forgotten how much I liked her.

"Have you ever been in love?" [ cue Paula's doe brown eyes] For me it was the part where he says, " Terrible?" all raspy. Her music was just fun and carefree. It didn't have to be taken seriously and that's what the late 80s and early 90s was all about. For me, I was a tween/teenager during that time frame and music fluff was all part of the innocence. Could she pull it off now? Hell, no. Her Spellbound album was out during the time she was married to Emilio, right? I remember a song called, "Will U Marry Me?" and kept thinking that all the album titles were written out like Prince named them. That bugged me, but I still enjoyed the album (sans liner notes) to some degree. And she does look amazing today. Her complexion is just pure luck of the genes and I'd like to see her do more choreography. Maybe she could do something (not sure if she has) for So You Think You Can Dance? or Dancing with the Stars?

I hate that I know this, but all the titles and lyrics were written out regularly ("Will You Marry Me?") with the exception of "U", which was written by Prince. My Mom didn't want me to get Spellbound because she thought Paula looked like a witch on the cover. The cover art was kinda strange. I guess that was her attempt to be a little more "artsy" and move away from the bubblegum image.

I had Spellbound too, I damn near wore that thing out. She did look really weird on the cover. My poor ten-year-old brain was so confused by how different she looked in her videos.

I wore OUT "Forever Your Girl" back in the day! I'm also really glad to know I'm not the only person who remembers Spellbound.

I would like to see her get involved with the U.S. version of it. I mean, Duh! Alternatively maybe they can have her (and for that matter Rosie Perez) come in as guest judges on Dancing With the Stars for the freestyle portion. Or maybe she and Rosie can have a celebrity dance-off. [/ bringbackthefunky90s] Her Spellbound album was out during the time she was married to Emilio, right? What is Paula wearing? What's on her hands? Is it feathers? I wonder why she and Emilio split.

I think it is feathers, but at first look, it looks like claws. Either way, I don't know why she would choose to cover up that beautiful face. She used to be seemingly sane and coherent when she spoke back then in interviews. I wonder when The Crazy started. Here is a cool clip of Paula teaching Janet choreography. (Janet is such a baby!) It's such a contrast to see her mentally focused and sharp, compared to how she comes across today.
