Mike Wallace tore her a new one some years back on 60 Minutes. Wow! That must have been a pleasure to watch. Any details? I read an interview with her a few years back. I couldn't get over the arrogance of this woman. She claimed that her career had changed people's lives -- people as in the general public. I can see being a big fan of a singer or actor, but how in the world do they actually change your life? But this is what she believes about herself. Also, I think in the same interview, she said she and her husband had spent a vacation driving around the country and staying at bed & breakfasts. The interviewer asked if people were stunned to see her showing up at a b&b. She said something to the effect that nobody bothered them because people simply couldn't believe it actually was them. I used to grudgingly admire that she never got a nose job, then someone mentioned that the reason she never did was because she was afraid a nose job would effect her precious voice.

Bonsai, it's been a long time, so I don't really remember it too well. It wasn't the first time he had done a segment with her. I didn't see the first one, but apparently she was a total ass. In the one I saw, he told her that in the first one she had been totally self-absorbed. He basically had nothing good to say about her.

I like her. Yeah, she's a diva of monumental proporations (mostly in her own mind), but that doesn't bother me. She seems to be a perfectionist, who doesn't find perfection in many things. Hasn't she been in some type of therapy most of her adult life? Anyway, Funny Girl is one of my favorite movies and I can't count the number of times I've watched What's Up Doc?.

Gosh, I love her.
I don't even care if she's whiny and bitchy and mean. She's freaking Barbra Streisand. She could slap me in the face, and I would go watch Funny Girl, and all would be forgiven.

"Chef, have you seen Barbra Streisand?" "No, not since Yentl."

For some reason, her diva-tude doesn't bother me. Her version of "Happy Days Are Here Again" is one of my favorite songs and "The Music That Makes Me Dance" (from the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Funny Girl) rips my heart out every time I hear it.
The Way We Were and both of her Broadway albums cement her lifetime pass status with me.
I like that she isn't Botoxed/plastic-surgeried within an inch of her life, unlike many of the women her age I see in Brentwood/Beverly Hills.

I think it was during her "Allegedly" special where Kathy Griffin talks about going on Oprah shortly after Babs was on the show. Apparently, Kathy brought it up to Oprah and Oprah said "Can you believe she painted my mic white!?!?"
I never saw that Oprah episode but think it's hilarious that Barbara painted the mic to match her outfit.
