Nah...I'm not feeling it. He's a little overrated in my opinion. Tonys? Yeah. Oscars? No. Not his lane. I'm not sure who I'd like (Steve Martin and Baldwin were good, but Alec can gtfo now). Maybe Martin solo? IMO, the host is the least of the their problems with the Oscars. They've needed a paring down for years. They could easily cut an hour from the show.

I'd love for Steve Martin to do it again. He's done it solo a couple times, and they were the shortest ceremonies in a long time. He knew how to keep things moving and was still funny while doing so.
I like Neil, but movies aren't really so much his thing. I'm sure he'll do an adequate job but he seems like a dull and safe choice.

I agree that the hosts are the least of the Oscars' problems. I'm sure NPH will be fine, I'll be surprised if he's at all exciting.

He always has a cocky expression on his face. All the time!

Good choice. The Oscars are long, that's not going to change, and we might as well have a host who's loving every minute of it.

If they put out a press release saying there would zero dance numbers, I'd be way more excited. I'm okay with Best Song nominee performances, but that should be it. Also, those endless movie clip montages I can also do without. My favourite hosts in recent memory were Steve Martin in 2001 and Chris Rock in 2005.

Gosh, if the Grammys get him to host, he'll have a brand-new kind of EGOT!

They apparently asked Julia Louis-Dreyfus first but she turned them down. Bummer.
I've been over NPH for a couple years now. Pretty boring choice.

God Bless him though. This is gonna be the worst year for anyone to host. Half the ceremony is going to be taken up by the Memorial Reel and all the celebs in the audience will be expecting the host to bring them pizza! Poor Doogie Hedwig's gonna have it rough!

I loved Jon Stewart's line after Three Six Mafia won for "It's Hard Out There for a Pimp." As they walked off stage he noted, "So, that's Three Six Mafia - 1, Martin Scorcese - 0." His delivery was perfection.
