Skeevy, but not as skeevy as 52-year-old Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and his 21 year old girlfriend, whom he's been dating for 2 years. Gross.

Ewwwwww! Oh young girl! You're young and pretty! You can do so much better! Skeevy, but not as skeevy as 52-year-old Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and his 21 year old girlfriend, whom he's been dating for 2 years. Gross. You know I can at least understand why a 21 year old might go for Anthony Kiedis. The man is rock royalty. Don't get me wrong. It's icky but at least I can understand the girlfriend's mindset.

That and Anthony Kiedis still looks and seems relatively youthful (opposed to Mick Jagger and his bandmates for example). Robin just seems skeevy, as illustrated by the ass grab picture. At least this time he doesn't have to sneak around!

I can see why someone young would go for Anthony Kiedis but I'm still grossed out. And a huge part of me is offended that, at 43, I am way too old for him. As if that were a realistic possibility, but still. Not fair.
Robin Thicke isn't exactly a flash in the pan but he tips more in the direction of one-hit-wonder than an established rock god.

I totally get it when it comes to Anthony Kiedis, even though I wouldn't touch the man with a ten foot pole for fear of an STD, but I do get it. Robin Thicke, however? Even when I was 19 I wasn't attracted to that meat market club-hopping douchebag type. Anytime a Robin Thicke-type approached me, I couldn't keep a straight face and felt like I was in a Roxbury guys skit. The whole point of letting them do their spiel was to have a good story for your girlfriends so you could all laugh about it together. You don't actually deign to date one of these guys.

Maybe our experiences with/as 19 year olds is just completley different, but I don't remember it being an age of exceptionally discriminating taste. That was right around the age a lot of my friends started exploring relationships with age gaps in the decades and I don't recall any of them waiting around for "rock royalty". (Scare quotes because, as dating material, I don't consider Anthony Kiedis a step up from Robin Thicke.) A guy with money and a nominal level of fame would've have been considered hitting the jackpot. Douchebag seemed to be the baseline.
