I was hesitant to start a thread about him because if he's a secret jerk/creep/Scientologist, I don't wanna know!
I like The Colbert Report more than The Daily Show now. His "This Week in God" segments were always my fave and not just because he's very attractive in a thoroughly geeky way. And he's a Ringer!

Judging by a couple "This Week in God" that jump to mind, I'm going with not a $cientologist :-)

I'm always amazed by his ability to stay stone-faced and in character, no matter how ridiculous the situation, or dialog. It takes an amusing situation and makes it laugh-out-loud funny. That, and when he does bust up, it's hysterical (eg. 49'er Pete, and the Prince Charles Banana Incident).

I love Stephen - he's my secret celebrity crush. His report on The Gates in Central Park was wonderful. I highly recommend his NPR interview - an hour of listening to his voice - heaven!
Back to you, "Jon"

Stephen is totally my pretend TV boyfriend. He's hilarious, and The Colbert Report seems to be hitting its stride (I worried after the first few episodes).
And I'll always love him for his voice work on Harvey Birdman.

Oh, he's the best. I love the Daily Show, love The Colbert Report.
But yeah, "This Week in God" was the best segment on TDS.

Did you see him the other day when he did the segment on capital punishment? Hysterical! And then when Viggo Mortenson was on the Daily Show, and they checked in with Stephen, and he started going all geek? Love it!

He does do a great job staying in character.
One of my favorite bits he's ever done is when they were doing some piece on kids and he interviewed his completely adorable daughter (who looked like she was about 7 or 8) - he was definitely in "Stephen Colbert" mode and his daughter was doing a great job of being serious in the interview. Then he threw some complicated political question at her and she paused for a few moments, then quietly said, "I don't know what that means, Daddy." He then mock-scolded her for calling him Daddy in the middle of the interview, but she obviously wasn't upset by it, and just laughed and said something like, "Oh, Daddy!" He then said something like, "See there you go again." and she just kinda rolled her eyes and got this look on her face like, "Daddy is being silly again."
It was very, very cute and he obvious has a great relationship with his kids.
