She seems like such a genuinely nice person. Love her.

Celine did a cameo in the last Muppets movie that had her dueting with Miss Piggy. It was pretty awesome and made me like her even more. Actually, I ended up liking all the actors who did the Muppets movie more especially Ray Liotta who liked a giant dillhole in the movie.

Aww, she does seem, as someone said upthread, like a genuinely good person. I hope that she and their sons and Rene's other children were able to be with him and that his passing was peaceful. It will be also interesting to see if she has a resurgence as a performer (I know she's been doing Vegas, but I mean making new popular music) after an appropriate time for her. It can sometimes be freeing, in a way, after a partner passes from a long and drawn out illness and she may feel the need to create or do something new and different.

Ah man, my heart really goes out to Celine and his kids. He's the only man she's ever been with, a true soulmate. She must be devastated.

I grew fond of Celine after seeing a documentary about her on Lifetime that followed her around at home and on tour. She's a weirdo and a mega-extrovert, but she seems good-hearted and earnest about everything in a way that I find endearing. No one can say she wasn't devoted to her husband.
On a side note, cancer is knocking celebrities down like bowling pins right now, but I wonder whether the month of January has something to do with it? Like I wonder if people in general who are battling terminal cancer tend to muster extra energy to get through the holidays, but then the post-holiday slump & winter doldrums tip things in the other direction.

I think there's something to this. It happened in my extended family, a whole bunch of relatives dropped dead in the first half of January (in different years, not all at once) and this is pretty much exactly what was going on.
