Jessica Simpson is adding another member to her family!

The singer and fashion designer is expecting her third child — a baby girl! — with husband Eric Johnson, she announced on Instagram Tuesday morning with a photo set of her two kids Ace Knute, 5, and Maxwell “Maxi” Drew, 6, revealing the baby’s sex.

“SURPRISE … ” Simpson, 38, captioned the first image of her kids looking stoked to pop two large polka-dot balloons to find out if they were having a brother or a sister.

“This little baby girl will make us a family of five,” she added alongside a snap of her kids surrounded by smaller pink balloons, which presumably came from the large balloon that Ace was holding previously. “We couldn’t be happier to announce this precious blessing of life.”

I feel for the new baby, especially since she's a girl. Jessica seems to have no problem whoring her kids out for her IG. There is not an unposed or non-choreographed shot to be found. What pisses me off, besides the stumbling drunkenness, and call me too judge-y here, is how she purposely tries to make her 6YO daughter look "hot" rather than just a cute 6YO.

In the sense of overloads of Happy! Family! pix, JS is a lot like Tori Spelling, only not in mountains of debt.

I totally agree with this, but this is what a lot of celebs and other folks do today, to keep people interested in them. There are so many celebrities out here, all trying to get attention, that celebrities that are around have to do things to keep the public interested. That's one of the reasons the Jersey Shore cast are back on TV.

The resulting emotional pain, along with other stressors, including career pressures, led her to self-medicate with alcohol and stimulants — a dependency that would later prompt her doctor to tell her her life was in danger.

Discusses her relationship with John Mayer:

“He loved me in the way that he could and I loved that love for a very long time,” she says of Mayer, now 42. “Too long. And I went back and forth with it for a long time. But it did control me.”

Their contact ended after he called her “sexual napalm” in a 2010 Playboy interview. “He thought that was what I wanted to be called,” she says. “I was floored and embarrassed that my grandmother was actually gonna read that.”

“A woman and how they are in bed is not something that is ever talked about,” Simpson adds. “It was shocking.”

There is a whole lot more going on behind the scenes with her life. I applaud her for coming forward with her addition, past trauma, sexual abuse, and writing a book about all of it. I think that deep down she's a sweet lady who loves her kids and is trying to live her best life. She may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but I think like many other 90s teen sensations, they were exploited by their parents and over-sexualized.

I can't imagine how much it would mess with your mind to not only be sexually abused as a child, but abused while growing up in such an evangelical Christian, 'a woman's purity is her greatest gift' type of environment. I also cannot fucking believe that her dad actively marketed her virginity knowing she had gone through that.

It's likely not many of us have read Playboy and yet we have all read what John Mayer said. Other magazines are always using others as sources so it is reasonable for her to worry about her grandmother reading the statement.

From what I understand she was abused by a friend of her parents. She told them what happened and while they stopped socializing with her abuser, they never spoke of the abuse either. Shoving things like that under the rug do so much more harm than good.

She has been sober since 2017. Good for her.
