His dehumanizing description of her, “sexual napalm” was big news when he said it.
He’s such a scumbag. I can’t stand people who behave like this, using their intelligence to make others inferior. . It says a lot about his immaturity and smug arrogance.

I never like to hear that anyone was sexually abused as a child. That's just so awful for her.
As far as her career goes, I love the handbags that her label puts out.

I wish her lots of love, support, and healing on her journey but also a rapid fade into obscurity so I don't have to hear about it. I miss the good ole days when stars faded from the limelight when their careers did. I'll give her credit, I can pretty much ignore her most of the time and then every so often she pops up with her design career or this book. Then she sort of goes away again... Of course I may be biased, I had some of her leggings for running and they were well made and comfortable.

Her grandmother reads Playboy??? It's likely not many of us have read Playboy and yet we have all read what John Mayer said. Other magazines are always using others as sources so it is reasonable for her to worry about her grandmother reading the statement. Yep. I'm kind of vague on who Mayer is other than "boring white dude singer"(had to google his name to see if I'd ever listened to any of his stuff) and I still know that he dated Jessica and said something that creepy. That comment got a huge amount of play.

Good to know, I need some new ones for the gym:) I bought a pair of her shoes a couple of years ago and was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and well made they were.

I’ve resisted buying her line not because of her, but because they’re made in China. I try not to support sweatshop labor. 😢

I had a pair of her sandals a few years back and they were some of the best ones I’ve ever owned. I was so sad when they were too worn out to wear anymore.

I tried to do this several years ago, but it was really hard to find products, especially stuff like craft supplies, small appliances and clothing, not made in China. Ditto for cell phones.

Running shoes, car parts, headphones, books, etc. I'm successful with USA made stuff only in really niche areas, like my At-a-Glance planner or coffee filters. Topic: I know the late 90s were a weird time with purity culture, but I've often wondered how much of that was sort of a self-preserving reaction to things like child sexual assault, or changing the narrative. Like in Jessica's case, I would wonder if focusing on the idea of virginity would allow her to redefine what happened to her, and it all just spiraled out of her control.
