I'm surprised by this because I thought her dad was some protective type. I didn't think he was like Britney's mom or Jessica's dad. Also, I thought he understood the pitfalls of the industry since he's been through it (although contrarily I have wondered at times why he'd let his no talent daughter into the industry before she's ready in the first place).

Anyway, has anyone this young ever posed topless on the cover of a mainstream magazine before?

I am with DS1, I just don't get how she became so famous. It seems to me that lately, being mediocre in every way is the new way to fame and success. I could see if she had something going for her, but she doesn't, not a single thing.

ETA: Billy Ray Cyrus for all his talk is kind of gross. He is totally using his daughter to pad his own pockets. I don't doubt that he probably loves his daughter, but she is still his gravy train.

There are so many predators out there and she's just sitting there all Lolita, showin' her bra and trying to look sexy for whoever she's taking the picture for. And it's not even the first time she's done this! Anyone remember this?? The girl hasn't a clue of the dangers. Not. A. Clue.

My son is in their target age. He's not a fan (he thinks she's annoying) but he has female friends that are. From my experience, it's Hannah Montana. Same as Hilary Duff and Lizzy McGuire.
