Blech. I was so disappointed. I'm a huge Cameron Crowe fan and probably an even bigger fan of O's and this just didn't cut it. His accent. Just. Off. The story. Meandering and heartless. I had such high hopes. They are dashed.

I actually thought his accent was good. I don't know what people were thinking it should be like, but for playing someone who grew up in the Pacific Northwest, I thought it was good. He's not supposed to have a southern accent, and the only time I really heard the British lilt come through was the line "Please don't take this as rejection." I thought the story had a lot of heart, a little disorganized. But you know, to each their own. I'm sorry you were so disappointed.

I thought his accent was fine. I think people hating his accent so much is because they are used to hearing him speak with his British accent. It sounded weird to me at first, but now, I don't mind it and I certainly don't find it terrible and 'off.'

I just got home from seeing this. I think that I want to be able to say I liked it, but I just can't do it. The characters were very likable, but I get the feeling that there was a lot about the plot which was in Cameron Crowe's mind, and just dind't quite get conveyed on screen - emtions the characters were supposed to be feeling tha I didn't pick up on and such. I wasn't tempted to walk out of it or anything, but at the same time, I just never could quite figure out where the heck the plot was going. And am I the only one who is ticked off that I sat there for 2 hours, and was never told what the catastrophic shoe mistake was?

For me the whole 'shoe thing' detracted greatly from the storyline. It was plain old dumb.

Number 3 at the box office. $11 million. Wallace and Grommit just nudged it out. Not too terrible, and I have no idea why "The Fog" would be number one. Ugh.

I would've expected "The Fog" to be #1. After all, horror movies usually start off strong, and taper off the following weekend. However, I was expecting it to do more than $12.2 million, considering it was on 1,000 more screens than Elizabethtown. I was thinking more like $15 million.
I doubt Orlando will be getting any major starring roles. I think this could be a good thing because he can hone his craft more, what should've happened from the start.

I wish they would've said what the shoe catastrophe was too. I just figured it was either too ugly or that plastic wing thing on the side caused people to twist their ankle or something.
I wish they would put Orlando in a sidekick supporting role, but that might never happen because he's too attractive and marketable to be a sidekick. Studios won't know what to do with him. Plus he's rumored to be up for that Robert Walker role. Another lead.

I usually really like Cameron Crowe movies and I just saw this one. I thought Sunken tits was very good, but I just don't think Orlando is a strong enough actor to carry this movie. Much too wooden. There were parts of this movie I loved, but overall it was just okay.

I liked them both. I thought Orlando did just fine, and Kirsten was great.
