I FINALLY got to watch this! It's so incredibly sweet! Ewan was fantastic as always-I love Billy. Michael Caine was fantastic and creepy-as he was supposed to be. And Jane Horrocks-wow!
Did anyone else tear up when she broke down and wouldn't get out of bed?

I loved this film....Jane Horrocks was always known as Bubble from Absolutely Fabulous and not a lot of people realise she has had a career in musical theatre (was in the original Sam Mendes revival of Cabaret at the Donmar Warehouse in London with Alan Cumming). She was great in this movie, and yes I did get very teary. Glad someone else here loved it!

I was a little underwhelmed. I loved Ewan (so sweet) and Horrocks's vocal abilities were amazing, but the whole thing just seemed so over the top. Brenda Blethyn, Michael Caine and Jane Horrocks were devouring scenery like they were famished. On stage, it would have been great, but on the screen, I just couldn't ever buy the main characters. Ewan was the only one who seemed to be aware that he was in a movie and could downplay it.
I think that Brassed Off is a great movie, so I had high hopes for this (the same director and a hugely talented cast) and was pretty underwhelmed.
ETA: It was sweet, though. By no means a terrible film.

I saw this years ago and LOVED it. Jane Horrocks is amazing.
I put in on my Netflix queue. I can't wait to see it again.

I loved this movie. I specially loved the scenes between Ewan and his pigeons.

My dad races pigeons so I found the Ewan and his pigeons scenes especially cute. Otherwise, I did think it was a little over the top as well, but still good. Jane Horrocks was indeed amazing.

The over the top quality was what made the film. The setting is gritty and a bit run down, the big and loud of the characters was a nice balance. Jim Broadbent never fails, Ewan was a lovely dork and Michael Caine's rendition of "It's Over" is pathetic and heartbreaking.

Caine was truly skeevy-I kept thinking of Richard Dawson, only worse. And Ewan was just soooo freaking sweet, with LV and Dwayne. Awwww.

Loved Michael Caine in this one. The look on his face after he talks Horrock's character into doing the concert is just beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.

I liked it, but I can't really watch the whole thing in it's entirety anymore. But I do have certain scenes (most already mentioned) that I love.
