I was a lurker at FT for the past few years, and did not see a thread for Usher. Our favorite fetus head has a new song on AOL, "Dot Com", available as a stream here. Snark on!#nosmileys

I heard Usher's Ride single on the net..the one that JHo ripped off for "Get Right". It rocked. The only reason Get Right" is so damn infectious despite having HoHo "singing" over it is that is an exact copy of Ride.
Usher's people were fools to leave that one on the cutting room floor for HoHo to pick up and regurgitate. Why did he record it and release it as a 12 inch rather than include it on his album - it was a good song and IMO better than some of the tracks he does have on the Confessions album.
Anyway..if he rejected it it was fair game for the ever unoriginal JLo to jump on and "Ride" Usher's song to prop her no talent ass up and get on the charts with it.

He is the love child of a muppet, and a turtle.
And I CAN'T stand him.
That is all.

Hee! He does look like long-lost member of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
I like his music, but he seems so arrogant as a person.

Ha! On "The Site That Will Not Be Mentioned" he WAS dubbed a Mutant Negro Turtle - along with Pharelle, K-Ci of Jodeci and Keith Sweat.
Wonder what his parents look like? Those must be some weird set of fugly genes they handed him. And like Charlie Murphy said of OJ Simpson, "Man! That is one big head!" In both senses.

I downloaded "Ride" today, and have been playing it nonstop.
Why Usher's people decided to let this single slide in favor of a masterpiece like "Dot Com" (a slow jam song about cybersex - seriously) is beyond me.

Why Usher's people decided to let this single slide in favor of a masterpiece like "Dot Com" (a slow jam song about cybersex - seriously) is beyond me. When I downloaded Ride, hating Urrrsher and his arrogant assholish self as much as I do, I too still just found myself unable to stop listening to that song. I had it on loop the whole afternoon that day before I came to my senses and turned it off. I still listen to it. Mainly prompted by bumping into JHo's "Get Right" being spit out of a passing car radio, I rush to back to my laptop to hear "Ride" instead. It's the music. It's so dancefloor fodder contagious. And if I have to listen to it I'd just rather pick the slightly less untalented Usher and his version over Ho's. BTW I love the way Naomi Campbell said recently that she and he were never an item. Hee! Like she was saying something we didn't know.
