I must not have been paying attention to the media picking on Renee for her squinty eyes or whatever. I never thought she had 'squinty' eyes- just- the shape she had was she shape she had and it worked for her on her face (IMO at least) But if the media was picking on her eyes and she went and 'fixed' them... Then I guess the moral of the story is no one needs to be picking on anyone's body parts ever! I mean, someone somewhere at some time apparently said 'Hey, Michael Jackson has a big nose!' and look how that turned out!
I have no high horse to bother getting on since what's done is done. But I liked her old face/ eyes and I wish she hadn't altered it. I'm gonna miss her old look.

She may had it done for medical reasons, but I would be surprised if that was the case. She could have admitted it if that were the case...like how Rose McGowan claimed she had something done to her face because of damage she suffered in a car accident or Ashley Tisdale claiming she had a nose job because of a deviated septum.

From TIME magazine: "There is a very real reason why the actress would want a whole new face: we were all incredibly mean to her old one."
Yes, exactly! There is no great mystery here.

Go back and read this thread from page one. It's almost entirely comments about her weight and face. Her face is compared to a cat's anus. Her looks have received nasty comments for a long time. I'm surprised she held out so long on going under the knife.

And that makes me sad. I liked her old face! I thought she looked adorable. And IMO, she's a wonderful actress to boot. Sigh!

Wtf?

All I see is the eye lift/cut which she probably would have had to do anyway eventually just to see well, and eyebrows in need of dyeing and grooming. Otherwise she looks the same to me, though her skin is a bit weathered. She also looks incredibly relaxed.

I'm torn between feeling bad for the fact that the media are basically mourning the premature death of her career by what appears to be ill-advised alteration of her face (not even going to begin to speculate on what, whether it's weight loss, Botox, collagen injection, eyebrow plucking whatevs) and thinking that her career had come to a halt anyway so if she did something that makes her happy and she likes the way she looks now, then it's worth it. I'm sure she's made more than enough money to make up for whatever losses from not being cast in huge films anymore. For all I know, she has eight films in the can that are about to be spat out and win tons of Oscars. It is odd that she made a ton of good to great (and terrible) films with her old face but suddenly decided (or maybe Hollywood decided) it wasn't good enough anymore? Eh, what do I know.

She hasn't been in a film in 4 years. We all know what happens to actresses after they hit 40. Maybe her eyes bothered her and she had them done because she's not worried about being in a film (and she's let her brows grow in naturally and hasn't bothered to fill them in). I assumed she was semi-retired.
She does seem happier or at least trying less hard. What's weird is she appeared at things last year with her "new" eyes and it really only became news this time.
