Don't laugh but the only person I can think of wearing a knitted poncho (prior to a few weeks ago) is Martha Stewart as she was being released from prison. It was knitted by one of the other inmates and she gave it as a gift to Martha. Apparently, a lot of people were asking about the pattern and she put it on her website.

Didn't Jessucka Simpson wear knitted ponchos like a year and a half ago on her reality series? I could have sworn that she kind of started the trend and that these certain ponchos helped to bring a small city in South America or Central America out of ruin. I swear I heard that somewhere...

Jessica Simpson unknowingly raised the standard of living for the residents of a small village in Argentina when she was photographed wearing a hand-knit shawl by local designer Cecilia DeBucourt. Since the photograph was published, orders have reportedly been pouring in and DeBucourt told Us Weekly that she had to quintuple the size of her work force, which consists of local villagers, to keep up with the demand.

However, I do remember seeing ponchos everywhere in 2003 because I tried one on and looked like ass. I was thinking it would have come in handy when I'm all PMSy and bloated. Oh well.

I think Martha brought them back from extinction.

From the Alicia Keys thread- more of the Alicia Keys monstrosity from a few pages back, but in several different colors. Why would she buy even one outfit like this? I am really questioning her eyesight. The outfit seems to be designed to make her look as fat and flat-chested as possible.

ETA: Wow- she really seems enamored with this hideous outfit. Here she is wearing it in a photo shoot. Thankfully, you only see a little bit of it and not the whole thing in its full glory. Also wanted to add that I don't think she's fat- I think her clothing choices are just unfortunate and tend to emphasize any fat she does have.

Absolutely! She's had them for years now. She used to be almost flat if you remember her from her first video.

I wonder how much publicists pay Robert Verdi for his reviews on eonline.com? Really? 'Cause he must be getting some kind of fucking kickbacks for his latest round of Kidman, Sophie Dahl and Michelle Rodriguez. They all looked like marinated ass and he gushed about them.

It's a shame because I think Alicia Keys is simply gorgeous. I keep wanting to take her to a dermatologist and get her a good stylist. And to tell her to stop dancing, but that's not fashion-related (just common sense - she's worse than Beyonce).

Now Mariah unfortunately is one of those girls who will never be really beautiful, but I love her for rocking the tall, bodaciously curved body. I just wish she wouldn't dress like a stripper. Or dye her eyebrows blond.

I cannot take any of his reviews seriously after watching him pick Eva Longoria best dressed on Fashion Police (I think it was for the GG Awards)--and he was her fucking stylist.
