Is that definite about Hillary Swank and Chad Lowe?
I'm not a huge fan of either, but this saddens me, for some reason.

JC on a stick. On another board I read, I have been fighting with ill-informed people who say "Oh, ya know, if the $cienos get some good out of it, who cares?" with links from here and elsewhere regarding the evilness of the "Church."
And it all goes straight to hell when someone responds "Gosh, I just love Tom Cruise and I don't think $cientology is wacko. The people who do probably haven't read all the facts. It's ok if they believe what they believe if they don't hurt anybody."
And then, my head explodes into tiny bits all over my nice Einstein poster. And then, I try, try again. Arrgh.

Oh, I just about fall over everytime somebody says "Tom can believe what he wants, he's not hurting anybody." Excuse me, but his anti-drugs rants have the potential to really, really hurt people, especially those who are already scared to admit they need psychiatric help. And how about the way clams like Lisa Marie Presley and Kelly Preston are fighting to get ritalin out of schools and shit like that? I suppose that can't hurt anyone, either! People who stick up for clams are at best ignorant and at worst clams themselves.
It does make me happy to see that most of the people on Guinastasia's list are B-list at best. So much for clams turning people into huge superstars. As for Hilary Swank, has she ever said anything about being a scientologist for sure? If so, then she is just another stupid cult member...too bad.

I love how the Clams try to show how unreliable science is by undermining it yet used those same methods to push their own bullshit. I also notice that Cruise never tells people how exactly being a Clam works with vitamins and that nonsense. Oh no, it's all above our heads. Science isn't, but being a CLAM is.
Fucking morons. Playing on the ignorance of people to push their own nonsense and control, utterly disgusting.

I've now been told to shut up on the other board regarding $cieno, because hey, nobody is supposed be bashing a 'religion' like that, yo. And onwards march the stupid people. Maybe they'll find the edge of the flat world to fall off of while they're at it. I'm sure Tom Cruise will be there to soothe their broken skulls.

Guin, you can add Corin Nemec (Jonas, in Stargate's season six) to your list. I don't know how deeply he's into it, but he's a Clam. And I hate that Giovanni Ribisi is a Clam. I've liked him in everything I've seen him in.

I've now been told to shut up on the other board regarding $cieno, because hey, nobody is supposed be bashing a 'religion' like that, yo. I got that over at the Jedi Council Boards-I said, "Nothing good ever comes from Scientology." Someone pointed out, "Well, they're no worse than Christianity, what with the Inquisition and the Crusades!" I pointed out that good things have come from Christianity (and whether or not Jesus existed, he was generally a nice guy, you know, love your neighbor, do unto others, help the poor, peace, all that) too. I was told that there are practicing clams on the boards so I shouldn't say that. I understand, but it makes me so mad. Yes, Christianity has done a lot of fucked up shit. And yes, I admit I'm more worried about the influence of the Christian right in our society than I am the clams, if only because they're so fringe. But I don't think people should take the Scientologists seriously. I don't want to sound like a conspiracy theorists who think the clams control everything. Quite frankly, they're too busy turning on themselves, and they're a big scam. I don't think they'll ever take over the world. I just think they'll hurt a lot of individuals, people who are vulnerable and easy targets. The only way I could see Christianity becoming like Scientology would be if it had been founded by Fred Phelps. He and L. Ron are two of a kind. ETA: Here's the review of Battlefield Earth a friend of mine wrote. He did this thing called "Let me take a movie-bullet for you", where we'd ask him to watch a movie that we were curious about, but didn't want to waste our money renting or whatever. The review's pretty damn funny.

Yep. Sorry, Topher. Btw, love how that 'religious tolerance' banner he's got up only seems to cover $cientology.
Guin, love your friend's review. Is MST3K still running? If so, they're so going to have to do Battlefield Earth.
