greedygretchen, thanks for linking that. Props to that German interviewer for cutting to the chase.
Tom Cruise sets up Scientology recruitment tents on his movies sets. And he coerces invites studio execs to tour the Scientology Celebrity Center. This is creepy. He's got enough movie-star bank, so that the most powerful peeps in Hollywood can't resist his proselytizing.
Tom's defense:
The epitome of evil behind surface good intentions.
I like how Tom's shiny, emotionally-controlled facade cracks when the interviewer challenges him on the Scieno. Yeah, Tom, tell us all about the "scientific research" that shows the Scienos offer the only drug-rehab program in the world that works.

Did anyone else's Windows Media Player come with a song sample by Beck? I'm afraid to listen to it, worried that is contains some kind of mind control sound waves that the Scientologists will use for assimilation.

I've wanted to work with Tom Cruise for a long time so that I could trap him into a civil rights lawsuit when he fires me after I refuse to become a clam. [/evil cackling laughter]
I have the same fantasies about working with Mel Gibson.
ETA: I'm suddenly very glad this screen name is linked to an email account under a fake name.

Remember that Beck said a similar thing that "[scientology's] drug-rehabilitation programs have the highest success rate of any in the world." To ask the question again, where is the evidence or did all the celebrities get pushed in a room and told to promote Narconon? This is part of the whole regimen: New Life Detoxification Program - an intensive programme of running, massive overdoses of vitamins and very long sauna sessions, designed to "run out" drugs and radiation from the body. Narconon ExposedWouldn't going to Canyon Ranch be alot more fun and therapeutic? And isn't high doses of Niacin kind of deadly?Jama? Tom Cruise? Jama? Beck? I think I'll take my medical advice from JAMA. And what's more annoying is that they seem to try to prove their thesis by talking about nutritional information and drug addiction and how various researchers talk about the importance of nutrition. Now, it's obvious to anyone that eating well and sleeping well will make you feel better and someone whose drug addicted needs to attend to self-care, but it doesn't mean that you take megadoses of vitamins. It's pretty much a simple dietary plan. Of course, to acolytes of their little mind control cult, the megadose idea sounds credible.

Ha, I don't like Spiegel magazine that much these days but that interview was great! As the interviewer said, Germany doesn't recognize Scientology as a religion and I remember that a few years ago a lot of politicians here protested against them which caused Scientology to compare their members with Nazi victims in WW II. There were even demonstrations were they were holding up pictures from concentration camps and said that this was what Germans would do to them next.

Now that Katie Holmes is dating Teeny Tom (love that!), how long until she becomes a $cientologi$t or becomes freaked out by it and dumps him, unless she already was one before she met him?

Certainly, there can't be anyone left in Hollywood who doesn't know Tom Cruise is the king of $cientologists. Katie Holmes will definately become a clam. She must have known what she was getting into-in interviews, Tommy brings up the cult every five seconds. So I figure she's good and prepared to worship L. Ron.

Beck a $cientologist? I will admit that one surprises me , although apparantly I am not a big fan or anything. I can live with it. Its not like you told me that Bono was a $cientoligist, which would cause me to f**king jump out the window. That is probably why he wears those special shades, they warn him of the Becks and the Kristie Alleys before they have a chance to get at him.

Is Kirsty Alley still into it though? I saw a snippet of her on the Today show when she was making the rounds for Fat Actress, and she said that she had gone through neurosis. That is a term used in psychology or psychiatry(sp?) right? Aren't clams completely against all of those "evil" people? Sorry for all the questions.

Forgot about Jenna Elfman. She just seems too goofy to be that dangerous or scary. I believe I read somewhere, maybe on the other board, how she was in the Movie EdTV back in the day which was directed by Ron Howard. He had to warn one of the workers about Ms. Elfman trying to tell them all about her "special ideas/group" type of stuff during the shoot. Damn too bad 'cause the woman has some killer legs even for a former ZZ TOPP backup dancer.
