Steve Buscemi dressed up as his 'how do you do, fellow kids?' meme for Halloween and sat outside his Brooklyn townhouse and gave out candy to kids. That is amazing.

Sadly, due to Betty White’s death, I was thinking of another oldie, but even more than goodie: Audrey Hepburn. She was not just a glamorous fashion icon and Academy Award-winning actress, but a war hero and a humanitarian.

During the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands, she would host underground concerts to raise money for the Dutch resistance, delivered underground newspapers, delivered food and written communiques to Allied pilots who were shot down and hiding in the Dutch forest, and volunteered at hospitals. Her much admired slim figure was due to the malnutrition she suffered during the occupation, including to the point where biscuits and cakes were made of flour made from ground tulip bulbs.

At a time when US schools are teaching that the Nazis were “not all that bad“, she once said “don’t discount anything awful you’ve heard or read about the Nazis. It’s worse than you could ever imagine.” As a goodwill ambassador of UNICEF, she would constantly visit countries in Africa to help disadvantage children, because she remembered what is was like being hungry and living through war. She is the embodiment of the phrase “not just a pretty face“.

I like Zendaya (slayer of the red carpet). I like Tom Holland (incredibly endearing, Lip Sync Battle GOAT, and a far better actor than he gets credit for). But their combined cuteness now that they are out in the open is too much. Help, I am too old to be invested.

I'm amused that I find it hard to tell who's who in that first clip, between the big coats, hats, and masks.

With a brief glance at his and her Tumblr tags, the response seems to be fairly positive? But maybe the crazy fans have migrated elsewhere. I still have vague PTSD from looking at the batshittery in Benedict Cumberbatch and his wife's tags when they went public/had babies.
