Close, Heavenly Bodies! And yep, 2018. That one was awesome, I love that they split the exhibit up and incorporated some of it into The Cloisters, which is the Met's medieval art satellite museum. For my favorites, it's probably between that one and China: Through the Looking Glass, which was 2015. The exhibit on Camp a few years ago was fun too. It was definitely a less serious exhibit, it almost felt like it belonged more at the MoMA rather than the Met. And I know he's a controversial figure for good reason but speaking purely objectively, the exhibit on Karl Lagerfeld last year was really beautiful.
But yeah, Heavenly Bodies and China. My two favorites that I've seen.

I’m just a little confused as to how Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez are labelled stars 🤔

We all asked that about the Hiltons and the Kardashians a long time ago and here we are. It feels like people who truly deserve the title don't need or want the same attention so they're happy to let influencers and attention-hungry billionaires take the spotlight.

Do we have an arts and culture thread somewhere?

I saw the McQueen exhibit at the V&A and thought it was amazing. I bought the collection’s book as well and still remember so many of the displays, years later. I also live within Amtrak distance to the Met and wish I’d seen some of the other exhibits.

I did not get to see the McQueen exhibit! China was the first one I went to. I also saw this year's over this past weekend. It was super crowded so I should have waited a little longer but, whatever. I liked it but it's not one of my favorites. It's honestly a bit depressing. There are some items that are so fragile that they can't do anything interesting with the lighting, they just have to display them in very sterile conditions, which is very meta and thought provoking about the effects of the elements on clothing, but it doesn't make for a very good exhibit. Drake doesn't embody being a bad boy well at all. He seems like the dork whose poorly cosplaying as the dapper playboy. No matter how much he brags, he sounds needy and controlling - what woman wants that? Oh I totally agree. I've seen him on syndicated episodes of Degrassi and it's hard not to see his character (who was mostly a dork) in real life. But he's got the trappings of badboydom and he is a superstar, and superstars will always have groupies.

Hey, a Degrassi fan! He'll always be Jimmy Brooks to me, so I could never take his rap career seriously. Even Kendrick Lamar mentioned that even with the money, fame, and girls he's still a dork. I just never thought I see the day where Drake's music is booed in clubs, but here we are!
The recent DWI of Justin Timberlake also showed me that other people dislike him. I used to think I was alone, but PAB is finally getting called out outside my pop culture bubble.

Melissa McCarthy popped up on Only Murders in the Building last night and I audibly groaned. I realized I was about to watch another hammy performance full of over-the-top abrasive humor and I was right. Her slapstick, socially awkward, and exaggerated "comedy" was so out of place on this show and ruined the episode for me. I realized that I just can't stand her anymore as an actress. I used to love her on Gilmore Girls but since her big breakthrough in Bridesmaids, she's gone for these brash, vulgar characters and has lost all appeal.
I was truly shocked that they didn't have Ben Falcone play her character's husband. I think I would've thrown something at the TV if he had popped up. I know this show leans heavily on stunt casting and all of the cameos have been terrific so far, but Melissa McCarthy is like nails on a chalkboard to me.
