I never knew he was a gay! I think there was speculation about him for years. In retrospect, I think he was living in a glass closet like Liberace. (I also like to think that if Liberace were still alive, he would have come out too.) I wonder why this is coming out now (no pun intended). Since Barry's rep hasn't commented yet, I wonder whether he really wants this information out there. ETA: Famed gossip columnist Liz Smith outed IAC chairman Barry Diller (who is married to Diane von Furstenberg). She also called out Lee Radziwill for being a homophobe. Liz Smith is now 92. She's probably at the point now when she DGAF.

Barry Manilow was my first concert when I was 14, I loved every second of it. I always figured he was gay.
