*if it's true, I did sorta call that way back when, when I commented on his peculiar casting of Kevin Spacey, John Travolta and Tom Cruise in the movie-in-a-movie in AP3. But I seriously had no. Idea.

If homosexuals truly want equality across the board, they have to expect no special treatment when it comes to their romantic entanglements. Equality's not a smorgasbord from which you can pick and choose special treatments as suits your career arc or time of day.

Closeted performers enjoy the benefits of all the efforts for which out homos have risked a considerable amount of "privacy". They operate in the homosexual milieu but expect us to seal our lips when they want act straight to ascend to the sociocultural and economic stratosphere.

It was around... 5 (??) months ago, I think. His marriage fell apart, the BI came out and then, I think he even moved in with a guy. (I'm sure I didn't imagine that last part.) His coming out was within days of the BI but I think that was more coincidence than anything else.

Oh, I remember more now. He was hosting an AFI tribute to Sean Connery, and it aired about 2 or 3 days after the news of him being gay hit the airwaves. I recall watching him and thinking about the news. I'm pretty sure I didn't imagine all this and that it was discussed in his thread back in May or so.

That memo clearly was missed by a lot of people, for I too am completely clueless about Mike Meyers and his coming out. What? When? Huh?

FWIW, the way I remember it, he didn't really come out. There were some BIs being attributed to him, and he hosted the AFI thing and made some comment about how Sean Connery was sexy or something, but it wasn't so much a coming out. I think most people who hadn't read BIs would have sort of thought it was an off-the-cuff or joke thing, which it still might have been. I could be remembering incorrectly, though. It's been known to happen.

Okay, I just spent 10 minutes trying to find the old Mike Meyers thread but it must have vanished with many others in the implosion around Suri's birth.

I tried to Google the issue to check if I was hallucinating the whole thing and it seems it was just Perez, Defamer, Gawker, etc. who insisted that MM was basically openly gay in Hollywood, had "canoodled" with a guy at the Oscars, and had even moved in with his BF.

I'm sorry. I was pretty sure I remembered Mike Meyers coming out with some big, surprising statement about something right after a Ted C. (?) blind item and I definitely remember thinking about it while watching the AFI tribute, but I guess it all blurred together in my mind after so many months.

BTW, while doing my search, I came across this Oct. 2005 article on Kos which says a Gay Paper Outed Anderson Cooper and Shephard Smith.

I thought AC had been open about his orientation for ages and ages. And is Shephard Smith really gay?
