PageSixSixSix has Matthew Perry back in rehab...anyone else heard any confirmations of this one? He had that "bad reaction to medication" (yuh huh, okay, if you say so, Matt's PR flack) a little while ago; apparently it was just a prelude to his latest attempt to detox.

I believe Matthew Perry actually had a drug/ alcohol relapse back in January or February and there was talk of him going into a 48-hours detox center in early March. But from the pictures I've seen of him recently (aka last week), he seemed to have recovered quite nicely from whatever problems/relapse he had. So, while I believe he might have had a problem before, I sincerely think he's okay now.

All that propaganda we got fed as grade schoolers wasn't entirely on the up and up.* There are many, many people who manage to combine class-A drug use (sometimes a surprising amount) and general functionality. Of course being filthy rich and having many people paid to keep your life going smoothly helps.

*I'm not actually endorsing hard core drug use here.

Okay. So, exposing myself as extremely naive here, but why is cocaine-use linked to severe weight-loss? I mean, in a normal person (i.e., not obscenely wealthy), I would assume it was because they were spending food-money on drugs. But for celebrities? Is it because you're so out of it, you don't realize you're hungry?

No, it just suppresses appetite while raising metabolism, just like amphetamines.

Cocaine is a major appetite-killer...someone doing a lot of coke can skip eating for days at a time. Here's a quickie primer on the other things coke abuse can do to you.

What's Paula Abdul on?

Her behaviour on The Tonight Show was really bizarre. For the first few minutes of her interview, her voice was really low, like a (drunk) man. Her upper lip wasn't moving like it was glued to her gums. She was pretty incoherent and Jay seemed to take advantage of that (asking her to dish secrets about Simon and trying to get her to admit to lusting after him).

I don't watch AI, so I don't know if this is her 'normal' self, but I'll be damned if she's not hopped up on something(s).

I've always been stunned at how bad he looks in some episodes of Friends, all bloated and red. They had all that money and this this was the best makeup could make him look?
