Some of the WH correspondents are mad because they were told it was a private family wedding so no reporters, but actually a photo deal was in place with Vogue. Pics taken before the wedding day. Vogue was not there on the actual wedding day.
Maggie Haberman of the NYT said they cover the little lies because they can lead to the big lies. Give me a break. 🙄

The bride and groom are not elected officials. They wedding was paid for by the families. Yeah, sure, she got an amazing location because of who her grandfather is, but plenty of people get the fancy county club or trendy hotel or quaint country church because of their relatives.
As far as scandals go, it’s right up there with Obama’s tan suit. The public does not need to be involved in or given access to this wedding at all.

Okay..... lol

I can slightly understand the press corps frustration. Every president uses his family for image building and good will, and that's being done with coverage of the wedding. The press corp is supposed to be able to show all side, not just the cheery PR. So I think there is a legitimate beef there. However, most frustrations expressed on social media go quickly from being a legitimate complaint to a silly competition for who can express the most outrage very quickly, and the reactions of Haberman and others show that happened here. Molehill ... mountain

The White House press corps has always been a bunch of malcontents who act like it's legit news whenever they are inconvenienced or not fully fluffed in the manner they feel they deserve. One of the biggest mistakes of President Clinton's first term was attempting to move the press corps out of the West Wing and into the basement where the pool used to be. The retaliation the Clintons got for that was fierce.
In this case, the WH press corps can shove it. There are thousands of things more important for them to cover than why they didn't get to take wedding pictures of a woman I'd never heard of until last Saturday.
And now I'm off to re-watch that episode of the West Wing where Josh Lyman gets into trouble after filling in for CJ at the daily press briefing. "They were just mad at me for imposing discipline and calling them stupid."

Ashley's hiking outfit is very much like that of a pirate. A voluminous white linen pantsuit is, of course, the best choice for a woodland hike.
